I am a little shocked that the charger is wider...from a standing view point it does'nt look wider...the dart measures 69.5" while the charger is 74.5"...but if you look at the size of tire they use compared to the 69 tire I may be able to make this work...still more physical measuring will need...

I tell you what BJR...that is a scream 'n price for a 400+HP 318...I did have a original budget of $2500 bucks...but just remember I am a old Ford guy and Ford and Chevy parts are way cheaper then Mopar...so if $1300 is the breaking point of a well built 318, then it must be worth every cent...I...

I don't know much about the 302 heads...what I do know is the 360 J heads sport some good sized intake ports...so I assume that the 302 head is in between my existing 318 head and the 360 J design?...I do know that torque is made with a smaller valve and carb set up and if you go past the limit...

That's a really nice wiring job...I noticed that you used connectors to remove the dash if needed...very nice work!...I do the same thing when I make custom dashes...use LEDs for turn and high beam indicators and brake warning light.

Can't get anything stronger then a 9"...lots of options and rear disk brakes if you want...to rebuild shouldn't cost too much...should be done for around $300 bucks if you do most the work yourself...and since the pumpkin is removable you can have your mechanic set the back lash and the rest of...

I would check the plugs...I'm willing to bet they're fouled...my souped up Ranchero does the same thing after doing too many short trips...I don't think the balancer is causing your surge...good luck

I very well rounded write up indeed...and appreciate the suggestions. I have driven Fox body 5spd GT's that were souped up...in my opinion they were a blast to drive...your input about the heads and all the machine work or spot on...I plan to do all the port polish and cc'ing the heads myself...
