    Rocker's 1973 Duster "Clara"

Still alive. Car is in final primer, and things are moving along nicely. I have been updating a FB page I made dedicated to the restoration of my Duster that I keep current. I will eventually get this build thread caught up, but in the meantime feel free to follow along...

Modifying Auto on the Column Steering Collars - NO Welding Required!!

I used krylon "textured" semi flat black, and it came out bitchen! The texture is just enough imho. Jus to add my 2 cents, my column is also modified in the same manner that this thread describes. I cheated though and bought it from another member who did the work.

Hey bro, That is the "anti rattle" spring for the accelerator pedal. I'll post a pic from the manual in a few.

The Tangerine Machine; '75 Dart Sport

IMHO I don't think the car needs the wing. I think the Dart sport trim finishes it off nicely.

The Tangerine Machine; '75 Dart Sport

Dude, I think it is looking badass! I was re-reading through your thread, and wanted to address the black engine bay. I know a lot of people are not fans of the "blacked out" engine bay, but with the color combo you did on the engine, it really showcases it under there! I am jealous of how well...

Dude, issues aside it looks killer! I understand how discouraging little setbacks like that can be. Quick fix man! I am looking forward to the final product!

A little more to update... I got the clutch pedal assembly together. I still need to install the clutch safety switch, but for the most part it is done. Now the fun stuff. I installed the shift linkage which was pleasantly easy to do. I just read the service manually thoroughly...

Looking good man! Yeah isn't that steering coupler a fun mess. I spent more time cleaning the housing up afterwards LOL.

Unless you are set on factory colors, you could always do just the steering column in red, break up the black a bit and tie in the body color to the interior? Just a thought...Either way man, your buildup has been part of the inspiration for me to get my butt back into gear, so please keep it up!

    Rocker's 1973 Duster "Clara"

Thanks man! My goal is to prep all of these completed components so once the car comes back, I can drop it down onto the engine/trans/K frame combo as we roll it back into the garage.

    Rocker's 1973 Duster "Clara"

Hey Sireland. I am planning to assemble it after paint. The car leaves to be painted in November. I am trying to do as many things as possible in the meantime to keep me busy. Bigger items like the rear end I am planning to do once the car goes for paint. That way I will have a ton of room in...

    Rocker's 1973 Duster "Clara"

During my downtime, I had researched how to pull apart and inspect the transmission. I felt confident I could pull it apart, but knew it would take me some time. I admit I got lazy and wanted results sooner, so I had a friend who has pulled these things apart for fun, help me go through it...

    Rocker's 1973 Duster "Clara"

My lil dude wanted to help me get the project going again. Together we started by adding seam sealer to the 4 speed hump (inside and out), and also replaced any spots that were damaged or missing throughout the car. After the sealer was dry, we then spent a few hours cleaning all remnants from...

    Rocker's 1973 Duster "Clara"

Time for a quick update. So as I had mentioned earlier, I only recently found motivation to start back on my car after a long down period. I like to go to the local cruise each Friday night, then had over to work on little odds and ends for Clara. Well a few months back my wife decides to drop...

Dude! Awsome thread, and that color kicks ***! Don't know how I missed this one, but i will be following it for sure now.:D I fully understand that "funk" man. My Duster sat for upwards of 6 months because of it.

    Heater box

I used a method I saw in Mopar Magazine... I sand blasted the housing (I have access to a cabinet at work), using VERY light pressure. I then sprayed a light coat of semi gloss clear coat over it. Looks Fantastic! If you don't have access to a blaster, you could always lightly scuff/sand the...
