replacing cam shaft retaining thingy with eccentric

How do you ensure the correct clamp load is applied? Is that dictated by the rotation of the cam? Is the key on the nose a marker? Where should it be located, ie 12 oclock?

For Those Who Have Purchased a "Non-Running" Mopar/Other

bought a 96 land rover discovery. Running really rough, had a coolant leak, picked it up super cheep. Was running rough because a vacuum line was cracked right at the intake, pulled it off, clipped it a bit shorter, put it back on. Coolant leak was an exchanger, torqued the bolts down, stopped...

replacing cam shaft retaining thingy with eccentric

LOL. Race motor = way more ponies than I have or plan on having. Thanks for the help! I heard there are two types of timing chains, one works with eccentric, one does not. Any truth to that?

replacing cam shaft retaining thingy with eccentric

I had a 408 stroker built by a local builder. He made the assumption that I was going to run an electric fuel pump, but I want to go with a high flow mechanical. The motor is only 450hp tops, and I don't plan on making it make more (cast crank). He put the pictured below on the left spacer...

Hood pin location - 69 valiant

That pic makes sense. I think I still need to cut that oblong hole in the vertical edge of the f ender just in front of the pin to be able to access the bottom bolt on the pin. Any chance you can get a few measurements from the edge of the fender to the center of the pin, and maybe the edge of...

Steering column (column to floor shift) mod and resto

That's the one! I want to attempt it myself. I'm in Canada, so buying anything from the states stings with exchange, shipping, duty, and brokerage.

Hood pin location - 69 valiant

to cut the access hole in the front of the fender, the hole you'd drill would also go through the sheet metal on the rad support. At least that's what it looks like in the pics I've seen.

Steering column (column to floor shift) mod and resto

I remember seeing an old "how to" on bigblockdart on modifying a column shift to remove the lever for a floor shift. Cant find it any longer. Looking to restore an 67-69 column and do the modification. Any links to the resto and modification?

Hood pin location - 69 valiant

I searched the vaults for some info on this topic, but I'm still a bit unsure about where to drill holes for the hood pins. My car's a 69 valiant and I'm installing a fiberglass 6 pack hood. I know they didn't have pins from factory, so I figured I'd go with the location on a Duster. I'm...

    swapping pumps, alignment issue

So I'm having issues with fittings and hoses matching up my federal PS pump to the rack and pinion on my RMS AlterKtion, so I found a saginaw and brackets and I'm attempting to do the swap. Having issues on alignment, I'd say the pulley on the pump is about 3/16" too far back. What is an...

RMS Alterktion with power rack, what pump?

I installed the Reilly Motorsports Alterktion front end with a power rack and pinion. The kit came with hoses with flair fittings, the factory federal pump uses a bump tube fitting and o ring. Both have 5/8" 18 tread per inch pitch, but I cannot get a seal for obvious reasons. I've been to...

Hemi in to 69 Swinger, like to go manual

So, my dart shell has been sitting in storage for some time and I'm planning on getting to it. Was just a 69 /6 auto. A local guy has abandoned his Duster project and has the Gerst rear and front set up for a Gen3. I'm tempted to do the swap, so I've been combing through here to try to research...

    Headers

I'm doing a second car, a 69 swinger, and a local guy is selling his gerst front and rear cheep. Was considering buying it.

    Headers

cant vouch for Dougs but I have an RMS front end and rear and went TTI on my 408 and the exhaust fit awesome. had to relocate the rear tabs for my stock hangers, but it was great. I do believe my headers are for a B body.

Not charging after MSD 6AL installation.

Any luck? I'm following the thread because I'm having a similar issue. I don't mean to hijack your thread. I have a 69 valiant, dropped a 408 stroker in it. Added the FBO 4 seconds flat electronic ignition - distributor, coil, ecm, a vintage looking electronic vreg (wanted to keep a stock look...

no clue, cant see any modifications, other than the amp meter bypass, and cant see where it would have come from/go to? Anyone have a picture of their relay and where that black ground wire goes?

    wipers stopped working

Trying to get the last little things done on the 69 valiant to get the inspection. Wipers is one of them. they were working, put the arms on, tested the position, then they stopped. I can hear a clicking from what I'm guessing is a relay, they move a bit, but stop. Could this be a wiper motor...

    73 duster horn relay ?

found the relay plug, its only two wires, green w red stripe and violet. those go to the horns, but I don't have a plug, supposed to be black, to go from the 3rd prong, to the turn signal switch plug in slot 4, but nothing.

    Horn wiring

right. The horn button goes to the connector. The black wire in the number 4 hole is supposed to go to the horn relay. I don't have that black wire that goes to the relay to the horn button through the connector. There's a 2 wire plug, violet and green that goes from the relay to the horns and...
