    B engine alternator bracket........

Thank you for the info. I'm not really seeing the measurements that are listed for the part - 4 3/4", 5 3/8", and 5 1/2".... maybe the 4 3/4" and the 5 1/2"... but the longest measurement you show is at least 6 1/2" so the one I'm looking at might be OK. It's cheap enough so I'll order it &...

Thank you for your help.... It's my OCD - I don't want any extra brackets or extra holes, plus the one listed is cheaper.....

BIG BLOCK MOPAR"BLACK"ALTERNATOR BRACKET 383 440 DODGE CHRYSLER bb mopar #6097BK | eBay. I'm trying to verify this will work with the 383/400 engine. I contacted the seller and he said it only fits the B engine. The listing also includes the distance for the mounting hole centerline that I...

    B engine alternator bracket........

No, these are the stamped steel ones - the triangular shaped one that bolts to the water pump/housing are the dimensions I need.

    B engine alternator bracket........

In need of an alternator bracket for my 383 and came across one that only has one bolt hole for the alternator pivot. It's stated as fitting the low deck but the ones I always see (stamped steel anyway) have two bolt holes, for both B and RB. Des anybody know or have a bracket that they could...

225 intake brake booster fitting thread size

Hello all. Replacing the exhaust manifold and the "potmetal" fitting to the brake booster disintegrated in the process. Only goes to the booster so I was going to drill/retap for a brass fitting/nipple. Anyone know what the thread size is? Was thinking 3/8" npt but not sure? Any help would be...

Flywheel for Slant Six and 833 4 Speed??

Hello all. This is actually for my 1984 Dodge D100. Replacing the 10" clutch and pressure plate and thought about replacing the flywheel also. It looks to be ok, no cracks, hot spots, or grooves, just thought while I was in there, just replace it and keep the original as a spare - maybe...

400 with TF 240 heads - valley plate options?

Well, thanks for all the info.......and boosting my self image. : / I guess what was throwing me off was the fact that there was a "gap" that needed to be sealed/covered. I figured if Trick Flow was going to make one, then there shouldn't be a gap? Also, the "batwing" set up for AR's plate -...

400 with TF 240 heads - valley plate options?

I would think that Trick Flow could/would make a part that works with each head well. They can sell me a nice set of heads for $2200 but as far as the $150 valley plate, uhhh, buy a tube of silicone & good luck.

400 with TF 240 heads - valley plate options?

Yah, I imagine trimming that thing would be a pain. Contacting 440 Source & seeing if their plate and gaskets will work. Thanks for all the replies and when I find out, I'll post my findings.......in case it may help some other MoPoor guy.

400 with TF 240 heads - valley plate options?

I don't have them yet, still saving up. Just trying to figure things out in the meantime. I get little things along the way to help me remember it's still moving forward....

400 with TF 240 heads - valley plate options?

Does anyone know if the 440 Source pans work with these heads? They say the Edelbrocks & Stealth heads work but not certain how they compare to the 240's? The price is definitely in my budget....plus, no fabbing required.

400 with TF 240 heads - valley plate options?

No biggie. I'm pretty resourceful and can figure things out (low funds helps with that). I like checking on here & talking about Mopar stuff from time to time. Keeps the fire burning....

400 with TF 240 heads - valley plate options?

Not sure about anything. Saving up for the heads & engine parts now - engine is the last piece. Thought I'd do some checking & acquiring parts.....and info. I sometimes buy the cheaper things to help me realize it's still going and keep me motivated....

400 with TF 240 heads - valley plate options?

Yes, very much so. I've been slowly but surely working on this car for 10 years. I have a crap job ($15/hr), drive a crap car, no cable, no internet, cheapest cell plan (Boost $40/mo) mortgage...... Just got done paying for my Gerst tubular front end kit (took almost 2 yrs) I scrimp on me, not...

400 with TF 240 heads - valley plate options?

Hmmm. I thought the 240 heads extended past the valley slightly requiring a plate set up? I am modestly hoping for around 500 hp - 470 stroker with 240 heads - does the factory style valley plate cover the ports on these heads?

400 with TF 240 heads - valley plate options?

The AR Engineering one was what I was referring to in my original post. $175 plus the batwings for $30. Very nice but I was looking for a cheaper option - especially since it doesn't have an access panel. Does it have to be that thick? Would a piece of aluminum sheet with a slightly beveled...

    my project in danger

.....I clicked on this post because it caught my attention. After reading all the replies, I am filled with a sense of gratitude and thankfulness (that often get forgotten, by me) to live in such a blessed country. GOD has blessed the USA and although we have our share of problems (now, more...

400 with TF 240 heads - valley plate options?

Getting ready for my engine build and decided on a 470 with TF 240 heads. From what I've found, there doesn't seem to be many options for the valley plate on a B engine with these heads - at least one that doesn't cost $200..... Even the one Trick Flow makes only works with the 270 heads? I...

    Trans cooler recommendations........

Looking at the Transtar website, it appears they sell Hayden and Tru Cool. That looks like the Tru Cool H7B (I think) suggested earlier in this thread. Thanks for sharing.

    Time for a rad.

I think the one I purchased was the same - AE 374 (I think). In the "mock up" stage so no real data as to efficiency but appears well made and fits well. A bit concerned about how well the electric fans are going to clear my big block but I'll cross that bridge soon enough. Hope it works well...

Electric cooling fan sending unit options....

Hello all - hope everyone is doing well. Looking for a sending unit to control the cooling fans on my big block Dart. I've read that it's best to go with a 2 wire unit if it's going to be mounted in aluminum ( aluminum heads, radiator & water pump housing). I've also seen external sensors...

    Headers with Gerst Tubular Suspension?

Slowly acquiring my front end parts for my '73 Dart (Swinger) and was wondering what headers those running the GTS front suspension are using? 400 B engine & TF 240 Heads. Thanks in advance.

    Wilwood rear disc help.......

I haven't, and probably won't. I didn't want a parking brake but they didn't have an 11" rotor kit without one. I was informed that a 12" rotor wouldn't fit my wheels (or it would have been less room than they recommend).
