    Shop air dilemma

Look into getting a 1 phase to 3 phase VFD drive, which converts your single phase to a usable 3 phase for the motor. They run about $350, this is the one that I have: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VDCV4X2/?tag=fabo03-20 . I picked up a brand new 80 gallon 3 phase compressor at an auction...

Western WA climate and building options

I live roughly an hour north of Seattle just outside of Burlington. There are several ways to solve your problems, it really depends on your budget and long term plans. 10 years ago I helped a buddy build a 36' by 80' main shop. Since then, we added covered "wings" to it so that it looks more...

Respectfully request advice as newly divorced dad

Sorry to hear that you are going thru this. Having gone thru this before myself, I'll echo most everyone else's comments in here, get a lawyer. Ask your friends, interview a couple, find one that works for you, and tells you the real deal, not some happy bullshit. This is going to be a fight...

67-69 Barracuda FB mini tubed interior question

Rearend is out of the car right now, I'll try and get it back in in the next couple of days for some more detailed pictures of the tire location in the wheel well. Here's some pictures of when I moved it from the old house to the new house. In these pictures there is no motor or drivetrain in it.

    VIRUS HITTING CLOSE TO HOME

We are in the infancy of this pandemic. It is going to get worse, much worse, before it gets better. Almost all of the projects that I oversee went to online only meetings a couple of weeks ago. My family is hunkered down and limiting trips to necessity only. My job is to protect my family...

    VIRUS HITTING CLOSE TO HOME

As Hospitals become overwhelmed with patients, everyday emergencies (heart attacks, etc.) that would normally be treated in the ER will become fatalities. They won't count in the COVID-19 death toll but make no mistake they are a result of it.

67-69 Barracuda FB mini tubed interior question

I'm running 275/40/18 on a 18x9 rim with only a offset shackle kit and rolled fender lip. I have about 3/8" between the back of the tire and the spring pack and about 5/8" between the face of the tire and the body. With the short/stiff sidewall its plenty of clearance

Galvanized Steel Roof Panel Vs. Power Lines?

So, I'll start by saying that this is definitely a less than ideal installation. However, that's AL-triplex wiring and the insulation is some pretty tough stuff, you need a good skinning knife to trim it. Under the correct circumstances you can handle that wire bare handed (not recommended but...

    Buying property tips?

Get the tax parcel number, go to the county planning and permit department and have them go thru everything they can with you. You need to make sure that it is a certified lot (allows you to actually build a house on it), just because it's got it's own parcel number doesn't mean you can...

Sometimes one just gets lucky beyond belief

Move your clamps to the ends of the accumulator, that's how the Moroso instructions show it. Mines locked into a place with a C clip into a groove and the instructions were to place the mounting clamp on the outside of the groove.

    Clear coat....

Ink, I have had good success with both Matte Clear and Matte Black from SPI. I used the Matte Clear on my Rocky Mountain Dash insert. The Matte Black is a single stage that you can mix it anywhere from 4:1 up to 8:1. I used 4:1 on all my trim and bumpers, it's more of a satin or eggshell...

For those using Sebring convert seats-how did you brace the floor pans.

I used BMW M3 convertible seats that also have the shoulder belt integral with the seat. I made my floor pan flat and used 2" C channel under the floor pan that I tack welded to the floor pan then full welded the channel to my subframe connectors.

Unfortunately, mine is a jackstand champion right now and the foreseeable future. Too busy workingat what pays the bills to play with the toys. I am working on a nice collection of parts for that "someday" when work slows down a little.

    What should I do?

We've all seen your work, you have excellent skills. If your current employer fires you for an accident that is clearly not your fault, then take your skills and move on. Your shop isn't the only one busy, I'm in a different trade (electrician), but I've been averaging 60-70 hours a week for...

    respirator????

Check ebay for a supplied air respirator. New ones go for about 450 for the hobbyist. Used ones, when they come up, sell for about 375-400. Consider it a rental, buy a new one, use it and sell it and you might be out 75-100 but you'll feel much better. I bought one with that intent, but I...

Interesting stat on the radio this morning about him. Had he continued to play, he could've gone 0 for his next 1200 and his average would still be above .300

    Braided Fuel line leak testing

Don't bet on it, I ordered an in tank sump kit and the hose they sent wasn't rated to be submersed in fuel. I emailed Parker and they said no, I talked to Summit and there response was, "that's the hose that's in all our kits"

    F.A.S.T EZI Good/Bad? anyone?

I picked up my FAST EZ off of eBay for $800, bought a new fuel tank for $135, spent $20 on some steel to make my own sump, I spent another $100 on fuel lines and fittings, and another $90 on a walbro in tank pump. Add in some misc stuff that I forgot and I'm in to mine for under $1500. Be...

    F.A.S.T EZI Good/Bad? anyone?

Here's the best reason that I can explain why I chose to go EFI. I live about 10 miles inland from Puget Sound, at about 100' elevation. One of my favorite weekend drives is about a 2.5 to 3 hour drive over the North Cascades Highway to a little town called Winthrop for lunch. Now my house...

    Modern seats and shoulder belts

I don't have any pics to show right now, but I'm using BMW M3 convertible seats in the front. They're power, have good lateral support, have a convenient flip forward set up, and most importantly they have the shoulder belt integrated into the seat. I made a frame under the car that is welded...

    67 cuda FB progress UPDATE

Run it. It's always easier to stay on a budget when the replacement of an item is more of a "want" than a "need". If you find one that's better and at the right number then swap it out. If someone is going to take the time to ***** about the shape of a steering wheel as compared to the rest...
