    Veterans On the Board

US Army Viet Nam era 1966-1968. In just the 2 years I was drafted for. Based out of Long Binh with Service Battery, 6 TH Bat, 27 TH Arty. Need some help with a couple of things. 1) I have lost my Military ID card. Does anyone know which Government office I should contact to get another one...

    Header Gaskets....

These look the closest to what I have. I've spent the past two days measuring every thing in sight but nothing on their site agreed with what I have for exhaust port opening. Thanks 440 and to the rest of you also. Bob

    Header Gaskets....

My bad. Engine is an '87 318 and will use EQ heads which I thought had the late model Exhaust port. I did not see anything specific for those heads. Bob

    Header Gaskets....

Sounds good. On the REM-FLEX gaskets do I use the 6004 or the 6028 for weld bead headers? Assuming weld bead means a weld bead around each exhaust nipple on the block/head side, allegedly to promote sealing. Headers are Spitfires. Thanks, guys. Bob

    Header Gaskets....

What is the best header to Head gasket out there? I would like to put fuel injection on my '65 small block Valiant and everything I read about it says to make damn sure you seal them to the head. Any leaks will throw the computer off. How about it? Thanks Bob

    Atomic Fuel Injection......

Mo.....I am aware of Tanks, Inc. Tank and pump package. Car is a '65 Valiant. 440...have not heard of Hot Rod City. Thanks...... Bob

    Atomic Fuel Injection......

Fuel tank is the original from 1965 so don't want to go carving on it to install baffling or a sump. Car is a cruiser so a real lumpy engine is not going to happen. Bob

    Atomic Fuel Injection......

Is any one using one of their "kits" complete with their supplied fuel pump? I'm liking their system but don't want a lot of noise from the external fuel pump but would also like to avoid the expense of a new tank with an internal pump. So, that being said, is the pump noisy? Thanks...... Bob

    Early A/Magnum engine swap question

My 91 engine, I think, is a roller cam LA 5.2L ? It has the roller cam w/lifters and the spider plus a fuel pump block off plate. It did not have the heads on it. Mostly I am concerned with clearance between the oil pan and the steering gear. If I get the wrong oil pan the drag link will...

    Early A/Magnum engine swap question

Considering the small engine bay and the conversion of the magnum engine to a center sump oil pan that would possibly clear the drag link.....what course should I take for dropping a '91 small block in to my '65 Valiant? Bob

    Fuel level gauges

What Carb. were you running? Seems I recall Carters like about 5# fuel pressure and Holley's seemed to like between 6# and 7#. Where in Az. are you? I lived in metro Phoenix at one time. Bob

    Fuel level gauges

Thanks Redfish and TrailBeast. Knew going to the 3/8 fuel delivery system would need the new pickup and sender. Just needed to get my ducks in a row for the rest of it. Bob

    Fuel level gauges

Thanks, gents. Second question is do I have to buy a pick-up/tank sender to match the gauge manufacturer (Auto Meter) or will my existing sender work? I am assuming it is the stock unit and I will likely change it to a 3/8" line. Thanks again. Bob

    Fuel level gauges

I know, this has been asked about a thousand times but.......which OHM range fuel gauge for a pre-74 Mopar? Thanks.... Bob

    Tti 1 7/8 headers

The Shorty Header you are talking about was made by Spitfire. Thank God they went out of business. Major issues with delivery of promised goods. I think he sold the design to a company out in Washington state which promptly pretty much doubled the price. Bob

    MP Cast Cranks

What do I need to know before ordering one of these crankshafts for a RPM limited build? Are they safe to, say, 6,000 RPM? Who do they buy them from? Wanting to avoid the Eagle Cranks that folks seem to be having trouble with. Thanks...... Bob

    mopar performance cam specs change?

Perhaps you have the specs for a 1.6 rocker ratio Rocker Arm? A .450 cam with 1.5 rockers will have .480 lift with 1.6 rockers. Bob

    904 Questiions

AJ......I have driven it for 4 years with the 3.23 gears, they are not an issue. I would almost like to go with a set of 2.94 gears to get the freeway RPM down. The engine currently (according to the fellow that built the engine) has the lowest level of MP performance cam that was available...

    904 Questiions

    1) Number on the pan rail is 3681063 4365 3313 2) Also had 373726 on a slightly raised pad on the right upper side of the bell. My '73 service manual lists it as a 318 trans and a stock converter should stall in the 2125 to 2425 RPM range. What model year range used this...

The correct trim for carpet , u gonna love this

I bought a '66 Belvedere several years ago for a drag project. When I was stripping out the interior (totally toast from the south-west heat) especially to remove the custom Blue shag carpet interior I removed close to 100 #8 X 1.25" hex head sheet metal screws that were holding that custom...

    360 swap questions

The pan that got a hole bashed in it by the center link was a stock pan for a '67-up small block A body. When the engine bay was widened for the big block/hemi A cars they did not require the relief in the pan. The answer is to get an early A pan but since you are using a 360 that is out the...

    360 swap questions

In reference to the oil pan issue....Early A oil pans have a relief in the pan on the right side to avoid the center link hitting the pan on tight turns. Hit a later model pan there enough times and you can wear a hole in the pan. Don't ask me hoe I know this. Bob

    Torque Converter interchange.........

Will a 904 Torque Converter that was used behind a '71 (I think) 340 also work behind a 1990 Roller Cam 318 that has been converted in to a 347 (360 crank)? Bob

    Under hood clearence

Modeling clay formed in to a cone and placed in various spots on top of the air cleaner assembly. Make sure the air cleaner stud is removed. Slowly close the hood down to the latching point. Open it back up and check/measure the crush of the cones. I did this on my '65 Valiant and figured a...

    1986 318, roller or hydro

'87 Diplomat 318 in my '65 Valiant and it is a flat tappet cam. I have a 90/91 318 short block and it is a roller cam engine. Ma Mopar never used link bars to keep the roller lifters from rotating. She used a "spider" that bolts in down in the cam valley that positions the lifters. I have...

    Roller Cam "A" engines ?

If a camshaft is advertised for this engine family (88 thru 93?) is generally measured for valve lift using a 1.5 Rocker Ratio? Are all long snout cams going to be rated with 1.5 rockers and short snout (Magnum) family cams with 1.6 rockers? One of the camshafts I am looking is the Mopar...

    Questions about 318 LA Bearings....??

Check the thrust, it may be out of spec. If all else is OK then go to the small end of the rods and look for issues there. Do you know if the pins are pressed or floaters? Bob
