69charger, Apart from the KB167 you could also look at the KB399 especially if your after good compression out of the box. If you want forged, I am not sure if these are suitable but KB also list the following options under forged! KB844, KB845 & KB847. 318ute.

KB399 pistons are a domed piston and will give an easy mid to high 10:1comp with a 65cc head in a teen! But if you go with the "big inches are everything" philosophy then then why not go the next step and bolt in a 440? Mild hydraulc cam and 12's all day with easy driving? In Australia...

Hi Bloke's, As I understand the Edelbrock Performer manifolds! #1. Edelbrock Performer (small port) for 273/318. #2. Edelbrock Performer RPM (large port) for 340/360. #3. Eledbrock Performer AirGap (larger port) for 340/360. I think that covers the current Edelbrock Performer offerings...

Mancini are A1, service and delivery is excellent and always well packaged parts. My first source for parts and I usually get delivery within ten days! I have not tried other outlets for a couple of years now as I am a happy Mancini customer! Steve.

Hi Guys, Can anyone tell me what would be the best piston for a performance 318 build? Hyper's or Forged and what is on the market these days? I have done a little sniffing around for a forged piston but TRW seem to be the only option but the comp is not great and they seem a tad heavy...

66Dartman has asked a question here which has me wondering also! At what point in a build should I decide to fit a hp spring into a stock oil pump? or is it better to buy a high pressure oil pump? Is there an accepted rpm, or bearing clearances that make it necessary to build in more oil...

Many thanks mrspeeddemon. After seeing a car drop a tailshaft without a loop there is no way I would even consider the strip without fitting one first. It was only a chev, but it made a mess!

Hi All, Can I get some advice please on the positioning of a tailshaft safety loop. I have decided I need to install a safety loop but I am unsure exactly how far back from the 904 it needs to be positioned to do the job right if needed. Thanks Stevo

I have to add thanks to all the responses on this thread and I can but only agree 100%. This kind of information is priceless in cash & time and goes along with a couple of lines I read in the Mopar Engine book. Learn the car, learn how to stage and race it, best revs for shifting etc and work...

Many Thanks for the help on this fella's. much appreciated! The fuel pump I bought was from a Mopar dealer and it looks the same as the original pump. I will add a regulator to my shopping list just for peace of mind. Thanks. 8)

Some guys seem to run them and some don't! At what point should I consider a fuel pressure regulator. The engine will be have a Carter hi-flow mechanical pump and I am thinking maybe I will need a regulator but I am not certain. Any opinions please. :roll:

It's good to hear everyone is okay! property can be fixed or replaced even though it's a pita! The US seems to get some real heavy duty winds blowing across the country every so often. Down under our big issues are the fires in the summer months and it is not helped much by our current water...
