Thought I had a good combo but now Im not sure!!

Thanks for the information. I thought as long as dynamic was under 8.25 i was good. Oh and by the way i have seen "nothing over 9.0 to 9.5 compression with pump gas and iron heads " mentioned several times on this forum. That is what had me worried. Good to hear from some guys that are actually...

Thought I had a good combo but now Im not sure!!

Thanks for the reply - makes me feel better about putting it together after hearing from someone with a similar build. Was your block zero decked also and are you using a large cam too?

Thought I had a good combo but now Im not sure!!

I thought so too but others told me that the static was too high for iron heads with no quench.

Thought I had a good combo but now Im not sure!!

Yeah thats what i have been worried about. Im pretty sure i would be ok with closed chambers and taking advantage of quench , but wasnt sure with open chamber heads .

Thought I had a good combo but now Im not sure!!

Yes it is the 508 cam with intake closing spec of 73 degrees (abdc). The heads did cc to 65 cc. That is why i became concern because of the small chambers with no quench. But the dynamic still seemed ok but i really wasnt sure.

Thought I had a good combo but now Im not sure!!

I need some opinions on my current combination of parts for my next build. I have a new in crate short block from mopar performance p/n p4876908 which has h116cp pistons at zero deck. I measured across both banks and got a deck reading from .003 to .006 in the hole on all cylinders. I also...

Has anyone used this disc brake kit??

These kits have the larger ball joints spindles. That is why you need the upper control arms to accept the larger ball joints. It is required with the kit you originally wrote in about and the one on ebay. Same ebay company has tubular control arms with ball joints for $239 also.

Need opinion on this disk brake conversion

The brake kit is what I'm talking about purchasing. The upper control arm are to make the brake kit work on a A-body car (before 1973). I'm not sure of the ball joints in the kit ? I thought this was a good price since I would have close to the same in parts purchasing them through the local...

Need opinion on this disk brake conversion

Actually I was looking at the brake conversion kit. You purchase the large ball joint control arms to make them work on an A-body. I'm pretty sure they use the standard larger ball joints (from your earlier post).

    lower control arm bushing shell

I just removed the lower control arm bushing shell for a 72 dart. I read many people weld a washer to the top of the bushing and press it out from the other side. I used a 1 3/8 by 12 tap and tap the bushing about 1/2 to 3/4 of a inch in. Then I heated the o.d. of the sleeve a little and pressed...
