Both Passon and Brewers sell restored 72-up non-console shifters but neither sell a new option. There are a few generic options but not a specific one. The Hurst website brings back 'We couldn't find what you're looking for'. The shifterdoc website is a bit chaotic but and I didn't see it there...

Are there any companies reproducing 72-up A-body non-console shift levers? The restored oem ones seem to go for big money if you can even find them.

It's back in storage temporarily. Like Mike said we ended up moving to Japan. I'm working on a big parts list for when I get back.

I modified the mount just like the directions. I think there are just too many variables for it to work perfectly for everyone. It's in and it should work.

This is what I was first thinking but it would need to be quite a bit thicker. Probably 3/8" to 1/2" to account for the movement of the rubber mount. I going to end up trimming the crossmember like they recommend.

Has anyone built a solid mount that is a little bit taller than the factory biscuit so you dont have to clearance the crossmember? Mine is powder coated and honestly I'd really like to avoid cutting it up.

So I test fit my 440/a833 combo in my 72 dart today. I'm using the Schumacher sb to bb conversion mounts. The oil pump land right on the crossmember mount and keeps the rubber isolator just off the crossmember. I'm sure i'm not the first one to run into this. What have you guys done to remedy...

I test fit the motor and transmission today today. I ran into a couple fitment issues. The firewall seam needs clearanced for the bellhousing, not a big deal. The other big issue is the oil pump contacts the crossmember, not allowing the motor mount to fully seat. I completely forgot about...

That looks good! It's the pro street clutch I think its called. Good for 450hp.

I installed the clutch and bellhousing today. I found a few other posts showing how they had to modify the driver's header for the z-bar. I can see why now. I'll have to do the same.

I got the scatter shield clearanced. I couldn't take the red next to the hemi orange any longer, lol.

I was under the impression you didn't need that kit if you used the 143 flywheel. Seems strange to have to use an adapter kit for every flywheel.

I got this adapter kit with the bellhousing. I bought it all second hand but still new in the box.

I tested the starter the way it was and it turns over the engine without issue! With the 'cup' on the nose of the starter it's distance is set from the flywheel. Here is a video of it turning over and of the 'slop' issue.

Is this how the starter is supposed to mount in the Lakewood bellhousing? There is a bunch of slop in it. It's distance from the flywheel seems to be set by the 'cup' bolted inside the bellhousing but it can rotate almost a 1/4" with the bolt hole slop. Thanks in advance.

Good news: I got the bell centered to within 0.0025". Bad news: the bellhousing and the header want to share the same space!

I got the advanced adapters speedo plug in and installed. Really nice kit, especially for the price.
