Does that have the third member in it we built here? Did you ever get a chance to break it in? If you haven't, don't forget to do it. And like I always say, DON'T FORGET THE OIL. Wish I could be there to see the look on your face when you get to drive it!!!! Russ.

    Spring Relocation Kit

Just installed on my '66 Valiant weekend before last. It's a GREAT kit. It's almost mistake proof the way they made the kit. I dropped mine to the top hole, lowering the car one inch. Also, I had them ship me the front brackets with no holes machined, my springs use a 7/16 front bolt, not a 5/8...

    crazy headers

YY1, I think the 283 and the 327 was available. A friend of mine had an early style Nova that had a 365 horse 327 in his, don't remember if it came that way or not. He was one of the spoiled "rich kids". Both collectors would go through that hole I'm pretty sure. I'm trying to visualize what...

    crazy headers

Way back when, I had a '64(?) Nova with a 194 six and power glide. I remember that to put a V8 in one in that time period required a special pan and pick-up. My Nova exhaust went down and back in chassis on driver's side (left) if I remember right. I think that hole is for the exhaust on the 180...

    crazy headers

Those look like 180 degree over the top headers. The year 1978 would be about right. The trans on the ground under the front of the Nova looks to be a Richmond 5 speed. They had a tendency of blowing 3rd because of no bearing support for the long span between the bearings. The shafts actually...

    1932 Plymouth

A buddy of mine had a '32. Had a 273, tunnel, mopar 4 speed with an 8 3/4. Drove it down from Seattle many years back and we all met at Circus Circus in Reno for Hot August Nights. After that he drove on down with us to Berdoo and then went street racing in Hemet. I can't remember what ever...

    B & M shifter cable routing

I use a 5 footer, and route it from the shifter to the passenger side, under the pan and back up on the drivers side to the trans. I wish that they made a 4 1/2 footer. I have a brand new 4 footer and 3 footer, can't use but I tried. I also use a https://www.summitracing.com/parts/dei-010418...

    Shifter... What did I buy?!

The shifter levers in those pictures fit a Munce with the thru bolt shift shafts for attaching the levers. The little hole on the reverse lever that is bolted to where the shifter is suppose to be bolted is for the factory Muncie back up lights linkage to the switch which would be bolted to the...

Have you ever turned down an offer for you car that was too good to refuse?

I'm still playing with my '66 Valiant 2 door post. I have been approached maybe a half a dozen times, because I drive it every day that it's runable. It's got a nice newly built 340, 3500 stall, 904, 8 3/4 with either 3.23's, 3.91's or 4.86's, depending on use. I've been working on this thing...

    I met Cudachick

Actually, you have a '68, mine was a '67, same as the Belvedere I bought when I first got out of the service. Yours had marker lights, mine had none. Wish I still had both of those cars. Russ.

    I met Cudachick

How much trouble do you think we'd get into???? I'll tell one......The first, very first time I saw you, you pulled up next door driving a FORD product. You didn't see me I don't think. But I gotta admit, it was a nice one. A little Maverick or Bobcat or? with a 302 and twin hood scoops...

A833 Any Idea what year/model car this is for???

You're looking at the outside of a transmission. Without opening it up and pulling the front bearing retainer to see the front seal and input bearing I wouldn't give more than $50.00 for it. I've got 3 or 4 trannies by doing just that. Some folks just don't want their "rebuilt" transmissions...

Anybody remember the TV show Mannix?

Time Warner carries it too, watched it yesterday. He was driving a green dart convertable, top down, with Cragers, California plate number NMO-918 if I got it right. Don't know what year Dart, but my old '65 Valiant had a plate number of NHB-899. When I met Conners it was around 1960, he was...

Anybody remember the TV show Mannix?

I came across this today, Mannix starring Mike Conners. I've met Mike Conners and loved watching Mannix. Check this out A body fans. "Mannix's automobiles The automobile was a focus of Mannix's professional life, and he had several of them as his personal vehicle in the eight-year run of the...

    1970 3 speed on a 68 273?

Yep, it's got the steel forks, the better syncro rings and beefier dogs, but besides being an overdrive, like I said before, it didn't come in an A body and it's a ***** to make it fit an A body. Now, under that spring that's sticking up on the bottom where the side cover goes on, there is a...

    1970 3 speed on a 68 273?

I've been building stick tranmissions for around 50 years. I still don't know any numbers, I just look, and count teeth. These old transmissions, odds are, aren't original inside anymore anyway. What I'm looking at is probably a B body, 23 spline 4 speed, and judging by the other picture of the...

    1970 3 speed on a 68 273?

I wish you'd take a picture of the whole trans, but I'm thinking I'm looking at an 833 Chrysler 4 speed. Russ.

    Which ignition system to use?

I'll be the first. I've had TrailBeast's system for maybe almost a year. I absolutely love it. The simplicity makes it great. It's about the best I've seen for the money for a street car, hipo or stock. And I'm not exactly new to MOPAR's by no means. Russ.

    1970 3 speed on a 68 273?

First thing you better do is make sure the 273 is drilled for a pilot bushing. The rest is easy. Russ.

Anyone have the 1972 Hot Rod Articles showing Mopar 305 build?

When I worked at Keith Blacks around the mid 70's, we were doing billet small block MOPAR cranks for ?Petty? I believe. The billet chunk of steel started off at better than 400 pounds. What they ended up at I never found out, nor did I find out the stroke or any other specs. I was racing small...
