    68 Cuda fastback suspension rebuild...

I also have a 68 Cuda, unfortunately mine is still under a tarp due to current time and money constraints. I used to own an Isuzu Trooper 4x4 and hang out on a forum like this. They also use torsion bars for the front suspension and although I never had a need to do it, several members...

    How to save the airlines!

HOW TO SAVE THE AIRLINES Dump the male flight attendants. No one wanted them in the first place. Replace all the female flight attendants with good-looking strippers! What the hell -- They don't even serve food anymore, so what's the loss? The strippers would at least triple the alcohol...

    Why Mopar

My first car was a '67 Camaro. Nice, but a dime a dozen. Was going to upgrade to a new Camaro in '74 (dating myself!), but didn't like the body style change. Looked at what else was out there new and fell in love with the '74 Challenger. Bought one new, drove and loved the heck out of it...

    A P.C. holiday...

LOL, I didn't write it, I posted it for the absurdity of what the Christmas season has become. I refused to go to my office party this year as they renamed it our 'Holiday Party' because someone objected... Phooey on political correctness! MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!! Jay

    Retirement

I actually passed my eligibility for retirement two years ago, but one of my girls opted for grad school after she got her BA, so dad's still working and cutting checks for college instead of car parts. She is pulling a 3.8 average though...makes it a little easier. Jay

    Bumpers on 74 A-body

Not sure about the bumper itself, but I was looking for a car in '73, wound up buying a '74 model (Challenger! :love4: Wish I'd have kept it!). As far as the bumpettes, in '73 the feds required 5 MPH impact bumpers front and 2.5 MPH rear (IE, supposed to absorb that level of impact without...

    Wiring Harness

If you're not looking for a restoration product, I would recommend the Painless harnesses. I rewired a friend's '73 Dodge Powerwagon with one and it was time consuming, but pretty straight forward. A Mopar specific product would be nice (I would buy one for my Barracuda) as we had to get...

If Not an A-bodie Than What Would it be?

Second that! I started out to look for one when I decided to get back into hot rods, saw the prices and wound up with the '68 Cuda! Jay

3.3 and 3.8 V6's, MUST READ FOR ALL!

Another option (if you don't feel you're getting anywhere with a particular dealer) is to bump it up the food chain. There will be a regional manufacturers representative that oversees all the franchises for a state or several states. They don't have to defend the original diagnosis, but are...

D@mn... LOL... So basically almost nothing fits!!! I think I saw that post though...I don't remember what years either off the top of my head, but I think they were from Dakotas... Thanks, good to find that out before I bought parts. Jay

    headers or not to headers

What about these manifolds from the 80's 318/360 truck engines? I kind of like the looks of them and will probably wind up getting a set ceramic coated and using them on a fairly mild 360 in my '68 Barracuda. Jay

    Identifying a 360

My bad! Poor phrasing on my part...yes, I meant the cast-in #, not stamped. Went back and looked, it was a 318, not a 360 :-( So, I'll keep looking... Jay

    340 ideas..

Only from the standpoint that if it doesn't have to be 'numbers matching' (IE restoring an original 340 car), why not use a 360 block? Lots cheaper and 20 more CI - before the stoker kit. That should save you at least $1,500 off your price estimate right there! Jay

    Identifying a 360

I went to a local Pick-A-Part yard the other day to get a small part for my daughter's car. I wandered the yard for a while looking for other items of possible interest for my Barracuda, but haven't had much luck with Mopar stuff at this yard before. I found an '84 full sized Dodge van with...

    Muscle car definitions?

In the "Strict Definition" at the bottom of the page it says "only...equipped with a large V8", yet they consider the Z-28 Camaro a muscle car. The original Z-28 was a 302 and the later models were 350's. From their list, the basic definition seems to be 'if it came with a badge package'...

How to hook up elecrical guages

In my experience, the tap splices tend to cut strands of the wire, causing problems down the road with arcing, corrosion, etc. Take the time and do it 'right', strip, solder, etc., then heat shrink or good quality electrical tape. If you live somewhere where corrosion is common (coastal or...

Easy way to identify /6 from small block 904

I hope to go look at it some time this week. If it's a lock up type, will it work for my '68? Or is it an electronic one that requires a OBD type system? Thanks. Jay

Easy way to identify /6 from small block 904

Yet another question, he emailed some pictures, the close-up one of the tag says 'Mopar 904 - Lock Up'. Were/are there models of the 904 with a lock up torque converter? Here are the pics he sent, in case they'll help identify it. Thanks, Jay

Idea I'd like people to vote on

I like the idea of being more subtle and getting folks to do a double take. I'm a loooooooooong way from paint, but I've been thinking about a dark metallic silver for the main color and the stripes in a lighter silver. Jay

Easy way to identify /6 from small block 904

OK, another question... It has a tag stating it was rebuilt in '94 - no other documentation. Are there potential problems with a tranny that has been sitting that long since a rebuild without being installed (assuming no exterior rust issues)? For $100 is it at least a good core...
