In my stock 318 '72 dodge dart with a 4bbl eldelbrock intake, 600cfm holley, and headers/dual 2 1/2" exhaust with 2.76 gears I get 15-16mpg going 80mph. I get worse mileage at 60mph compared to 80mph. at 60 im barely turning 2,200rpms. At 80 im turning 2,900-3,000rpms.

You cant go by what you see externally. Our old cars are built tougher on the outside made of thicker metal and steel. Behind all that tin and plastic on a new car is a strong reinforced frame and structure of the car.

I wouldnt lift from the pulley for that same reason. I either lifted from the oil pan or where the transmission and motor bolt together with a block of wood between the car and the jack.

Yeah, to think I was considering a cam swap done by myself as well. HA! Id rather have someone else do that headache.

The weld quality is about the same. I went to an exhaust shop to get a spot of the header that had a small hole in it patched up. Other than that all the other welds look great.

Sorry for not updating, I got the Passenger side in today. Drivers side is tomorrow. It took about 3 hours of work to cram it in there. I had the motor lifted nearly 5"...and it was still a tight fit..It doesn't hit the torsion bar or any parts of the body, I am please with the way it fits so...
