This !! Also, I highly suggest getting a microphone. If using the stock internal microphone, the audio tends to be tinny.

    72 Dart Swinger 3.6L Pentastar +T5

This x1000! While any Mopar I do personally must be Chrysler powered, the 8.8 is the way to go. An 8.75 rear for an A body is stupid expensive and you are stuck with small bolt pattern axles. Pricing everything out, an 8.75 spec'd like I want it would be at least $1500. The 8.8 would set...

    72 Dart Swinger 3.6L Pentastar +T5

While I'm usually not the biggest fan of a v6, this is totally unique and out of the box. It should be a peppy machine that gets fairly decent mpg which is needed this day in time. I can't agree with the 1st post though. I haven't seen enough gen iii hemi swaps for them to be even remotely...

How much advantage in adding rear disk brakes?

Is that an 8.25 rear?? How did you do the e brake setup? I was thinking about doing this to my '42 Dodge pickup because it has an 8.25 and I have the Jeep brake setup laying here.

LS powered Duster, Abomination or Go For it!

Another reason I'd stay with the gen iii Hemi. It bolts to stuff I already own or have on hand. It would cost me more $$ to convert to Chevy stuff. I'd have to sell my Mopar parts off (probably at a loss) and start over. I have no interest in doing so.

LS powered Duster, Abomination or Go For it!

The "cheap" thing I simply do not understand. They say budget LS but I keep seeing stuff like AFR or Trick flow heads that are over $2k a pair. Then they put twin turbos on them... I don't know whose budget they are talking about but I'm wondering if their place of employment is hiring... As...

LS powered Duster, Abomination or Go For it!

This!! The only advantage I see to the LS is that it has a large aftermarket. I don't see what is so cheap about it. Ls engines in my area are very expensive. Simply not worth the effort or headache in my opinion. If you took away it's large aftermarket, what would be the appeal to the engine...

LS powered Duster, Abomination or Go For it!

Oh man, I wished I could like this post more than once!! In my opinion. ...which is worth what I'm paid for it $0.00...is that it is their car and their $$ and I'm not going to tell anybody how to build what they want. It's hard for me to put down somebody's time and effort. With that said...

I believe he is talking about the 5.9 Cummins. They are excellent engines with stellar fuel mileage.

I ran it in a 904 many years ago with a /6 bracket car. It worked very well in it.

Lets make the best real world *MPG* THREAD EVER !!

Dad still has his 1976 Feather Duster that he has owned since probably '97 or '98. It regulary got 32/33 mpg on the highway. 225, 3 speed with overdrive and 2.76 rear (7.25) if I remember correctly. We will get around to fixing it some day and it will go back to original. While we are not purist...

That's my opinion as well. The best money you can spend on a slant 6 is the head.

    Roller Rockerarms Slant 6

Those sure look nice but I'm not sure how much of a gain that they have. A couple of guys I used to race slant's with gave me mixed reviews on them. One claimed it was a gain of two tenths. The other claimed it was zero gain on his particular engine and said to save my money. The 2 tenth gain...

    Oversize valves?

Thanks for the info. I forgot to mention that I already have a set of the 1.70/1.44's that I have had for years but wasn't sure if anyone was using them with stock bore. Just trying to see what setup I could get by with on the cheap with what I have. I had also heard of some using the 300 Ford...

What oversize valves have members run here? If I was to throw together a cheap fun engine, I was wondering what size valves could be used with a stock bore, if any??

    66 Dart trunk lid for a 1965?

Does anyone know if a '66 Dart lid fits on a '65? Not worried about correctness. I noticed they do make '66 lids in fiberglass. It will be a strip only car.

Looking for front fenders and grille for a '63-66 a body. It can be Dart, Valiant or Barracuda. I'm not to particular on which model. The only specific is that it be priced within reason. I need it in or around North Carolina. Anywhere else would not be worth it due to inflated shipping costs.

    198 rods/neon pistons need advice

That is really cool that you used a Pontiac engine. If I ever own a Chevy, I will look to other forms of power for it. Probably a Buick, Olds or Pontiac engine or Cadillac 472/500. The 350 is most boring power plant that I can think of. The only thing that I think hasn't been done with...

Cummins mpg vs 225 Slant 6 mpg

I am a slant guy but being that we own two Cummins powered trucks, I'd have to go that route hands down. Dad's '01 24v gets an easy 20+mpg anytime. The only slant vehicle I have seen get better fuel economy than a Cummins is dad's Feather Duster. Power and mpg go to the diesel without question.

    casting #`s

If you are unfamiliar with casting numbers and want to know if a slant has a steel crank or not, just look at the ridge right behind where the water pump mounts. The chunk of steel that runs to side of the block (triangular in a way) will be kinda flat and wide on a steel crank engine. Cast...
