We've got a good thing here

Over the past few months I have gone through some frustration and challenges as I'm sure many of you have as well. Tonight, I was pretty bummed about some things, and decided to check out what was happening on FABO. As I read different postings from various members, I found my mood improving...

    1971 Plymouth Scamp 440 - Pacific NW

I might take you up on that, the engine and tranny came out complete. It only needs new engine mounts and the carb should be rebuilt; the float started sticking closed the last month or so I drove it.

    1971 Plymouth Scamp 440 - Pacific NW

So I found something interesting tonight while I was removing 9 layers of primers and paints. An old repair to the bottom corner of the front windshield...done in lead! Maybe that isn't exciting to you, but it's my first find like this and I just think its cool. I attached a few pics for...

    1971 plymouth road runner 383 a/c car

That said it all for me. You offered to sell VIN tags to sell a car. So you don't do it yourself, and think that anyone who would is supid (sic), but then you suggest someone should do it with the car you are trying to sell? What else are you willing to lie about? I'm not crying, just...

    1971 plymouth road runner 383 a/c car

At least the post fits the rules now. I don't know you, but that stunt you tried to pull before you edited your post tells me I won't ever do business with you. I hope everyone else on here heeds the warning too. That was not cool dude.

WAIT A SECOND! You are advertising a NON-A Body vehicle... You are suggesting an illegal VIN tag swap... REALLY?!? Where are the Moderators? I see several threads per week with guys complaining about this happening on E-Bay and NO ONE has said anything about this yet? WOW!

    why no 340 scamp?

Why settle for a 340 Scamp when you can have a 440 Scamp? hmm...

    why no 340 scamp?

The Scamp was not just a Valiant, it was a 2 dr. hybrid of Valiant & Dart. Either way though, it was not considered a performance car.

Here are some update pics from work I did this afternoon. I wanted to get the fenders, grill and doors off, but also had time to do the trunk lid and engine bay wiring harnesses.

What color to paint my dart?

The metallic paint is not like a standard paint. It contains metal flake that "lays" a certain way depending upon how much air pressure you have on the gun as well as the speed and stroke direction of the gun, the angle of the gun to the surface, and the distance it is from the car as you...

What is the best way to store a motor ? It will be on a stand

Growing up in Kodiak Alaska, (just a few months work, then the engines sit the rest of the year - read fishing) I learned to run the engine @ idle, spraying fogging oil into the carb, then kill the engine while spraying. This will coat the intake, exhaust, and cylinder walls with a heavy oil...

    1971 Scamp Can I Fit a 440 in without a scoop?

I just moved from Auburn down to Arizona (it was down in the 90's today)! I almost picked up my Schumacher mounts while I was there, but I'll just have them shipped. Good to see a successful install, I started second guessing after seeing all the Darts and Scamps with scoops. I prefer to skip...

    1971 Scamp Can I Fit a 440 in without a scoop?

The question is simple, but I don't know the answer. If you have done it, please enclose a pic, and any recommendations or cautions about it. I am getting ready to dive into body work now.

UPDATE: So we have moved to the Phoenix area! I am finally starting to thaw out ;) and we are about a month away from starting the teardown of the car. Small Block Engine Leak

Check for a bad PCV valve. If the engine becomes pressurized because it is not working, this can work with the high rpm to force oil out of normally not leaking areas. Have you run it up while parked in your driveway and looked for the leak?
