Left hand lug nuts are back, baby!

Ive seen the Chrysler engineering video that someone posted 15+ years ago, but I couldn’t find it years later when searching for it. It’s not about properly torqued lug nuts, it’s about under torqued or lug nuts that are left loose. They will continue to loosen on the left side with R/H thread...

Left hand lug nuts are back, baby!

But when they do most are on the left side. Every time I've seen a trailer loose a wheel it's been on the left side. Also aren't ring gear bolts still L/H?

    '57 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer

Back then, there was a theme, Dodge named their stuff after royalty. Custom Royal Lancer had a knights head emblem with a jousting lance. Coronet means a crown that a prince wears. Plymouth named their line-up after New York hotels...Plaza, Savoy, Belvedere.

    Rookie mistake.....need help

They still use L/H threads on one side of bicycle pedals for the same reason. Same with ring gear bolts in your cars 3rd member. The engineering is sound, lots of other auto makers did it in the early years too, Mopar was the last hold out.

I also placed an order in December when they had their sale. I got the door panels in April I think, and didn't get the seat covers until the middle of June.

    What rear is this?

Measure the tubes. 7 1/4 have 2 1/2” tubes. When swapping to 8 3/4, 9 1/4”, etc, you have to have bigger u-bolts and spring perches as they have 3” tubes.

    Light Air Tank

I use an old freon tank, it's light weight too. They make conversion kits for them. I remember the kit being less than $10. Pic is just one I got off the internet. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000FKPN5M/?tag=fabo03-20

    rebuilding a lower door hinge?

lowers don't have bushings, so the easiest way to rebuild is to oversize the pins. The kit from restorick works great and comes with new springs which are always worn. Restorations by Rick Kreuziger - Product and Component Restoration Detailed Information

What size wheels and tires could I put on this 1957 Custom Royal

Here you go......seriously, I'd leave those wheels on there. '57 Lancer hubcaps are desirable and sought after.

Found a 1957 Custom Royale Sedan. near show. what should i look out for?

That is a Hardtop........ big difference as the sedans have an ugly roofline, there is no style. In fact, I'd rather have a 4 door hardtop than a 2 door sedan. The 2 door hardtops have the low sleek roofline and are of course the most desirable. The hardtops (2 and 4 door) were called Lancers...

    Street demon 750 review

The old ones were made by Barry Grant and had quality issues. The new ones are being made by Holley. I had a 750 Street Demon on a car I just sold and loved it. I bought another on for my next project.

    Oiling question

The top end gets oil through the #4 cam bearing. If you line up the holes with the cam before pulling the intermediate shaft, the top end will get oil. Just make note of how the shaft is clocked before removing. That will eliminate the need to rotate the engine.

    Remove windshield wipers..

I don't see how that could work, the idea is to relieve the spring tension from against the windshield so it's free to slide off the splined shaft. In other words, the arm needs to pulled toward you with no binding on the splined shaft. The tool I posted makes removing/installing a the arms a 2...

    Remove windshield wipers..

Use this tool, hook the end of the arm, then pull the spring loaded part of the arm towards the tool. After that it'll slide straight up off the splined shaft. I vote not to paint them and replace the wipers with non-black original style.

    electrical wires

It sounds like the previous owner put both ammeter leads on one post, effectively bypassing the ammeter. It's very common due to ammeters can be a fire hazard. Does your car have power with those wires disconnected? If not, touch them together and see if power is restored.

    8 3/4 diff

If you have stock bearings, you need that for end play adjustment. If you have green bearings that don't require endplay adjustment, that should be removed. They sell those, but all you need is the roll pin.

    new proportioning valve leaking

Same thing happened with mine a few years ago. I found another crush washer and had to file it to size. Then my brake light stayed on all the time. An internet search revealed that it's a common problem. I guess Inline tube doesn't care that they sell a defective part.

    I went to Heaven yesterday!!!!

The GTX in 1972 got the 440. The 400 in the Roadrunner is a HP engine, I personally would build the 400 into a stroker instead of putting a 440 in. The early build date 400's had the thicker webbing in the mains that is desirable. http://www.440source.com/blockinfo.htm 440 vs 400 thread...

I've pulled a 440 out of a truck with the converter still bolted without issue, but I agree it might be too tight in an A body.
