It's for auxiliary lights. There's two factory punch-outs next to it for switches...if someone were to install a plow etc. The little tabs within the punchouts are still there. So, I don't think anyone installed a plow in the past.

FYI...that I'll work on the price a little for a FABO member. This has been a great site and community of people through the years with my dart and the truck. I had the truck on ebay and it sold, but the guy ended up being a scam. So, here I am still trying to sell it.

Sorry...that probably would have helped. Here's pics of the rust areas. where you see primer, that's simply where I began exploring the extent of the rust. I took it down to metal in order to fully explore and put some primer back on to protect the metal.

I recently bought the Devilbiss QC3 desiccant dryer/filer and am in the final stages of setting up my air system. But there are so many variations online regarding how to set up your system. What I'm curious about is do I still need an additional filter or dryer of some type in the system...

Thanks guys. I was able to get the drive shaft out tonight. It was dark in the garage last time and I didn't see the small bolts holding the straps on. It came out really easily, surprisingly. Thanks again Now to pull the engine this weekend and get to some paint stripping : )

Well.....I just replaced the steering shaft with the Borgenson unit I ordered. I was very painless and made a tremendous difference. You guys were correct, the original joint had been rebuilt. When I pulled on the shaft after unbolting it from the rag joint, the entire assembly flew apart...

Thanks guys. I just ordered the Borgenson steering shaft. I can't thank you enough. I'm new to Dodge trucks and your knowledge definitely helped me out....hopefully I can return the favor some day. I'm planning on replacing it next weekend. Mike
