[SOLD] 1967 Plymouth Valiant Signet 2dr + tons of parts

Gone. I did end up welding up dollies for the rear. My eyeball guess on size was spot-on; the car sits pretty level on the dollies.

[SOLD] 1967 Plymouth Valiant Signet 2dr + tons of parts

I believe it's non-tinted, but I'd have to pull it all out of the attic to check.

[SOLD] 1967 Plymouth Valiant Signet 2dr + tons of parts

I have some pics available...Finally. Not great ones, but it's a start. Bad shot of the right side of the car. Few closer shots of quarters, interior sheetmetal, right-side door, trunk interior. The black '68 Signet interior panels. They were stacked on...

[SOLD] 1967 Plymouth Valiant Signet 2dr + tons of parts

Yes, they are the ones I got from Sedanman. They've been sitting on a closet shelf since I brought them home. Got the junk out of the trunk tonight. I'm still surprised at how little rust his car has. I also found the '73-'76 disc-brake spindles that came on the car, as well as the UCAs...I...

[SOLD] 1967 Plymouth Valiant Signet 2dr + tons of parts

I'll have pics up within the next few days. De-cluttering the garage and cleaning dust off the car. :) I'd prefer to sell everything in one shot.

[SOLD] 1967 Plymouth Valiant Signet 2dr + tons of parts

My wife made me an offer I couldn't refuse on a new project, so this project must go. Up for sale is a mostly-disassembled 1967 Plymouth Valiant Signet 2dr, a large number of used good parts for the car and a whole pile of new parts for the car that I've been collecting over the past several...

    Groomsmen gifts

I gave my groomsmen good pocketknives and nice flashlights...Benchmade 556S (Mini Griptilian with a combiEdge) and SolarForce L2P-based lights with good drop-ins and extra batteries. The lights are SureFire knock-offs, but they work well. Came out under $200 for each groomsman and they loved the...

Get outside and look at the Moon!!!

A new camera body is quickly moving up my short list of toys. Not sure what I'll end up with, though.

Get outside and look at the Moon!!!

Canon 30D, 70-200 f/2.8L IS USM, ISO100, f/4, 1/1000 sec. I think my wife may have manually focused this one, cause AF wasn't getting it done and her eyesight is better than mine. I wish I had a 2x teleconverter (or a few); I had enough headroom light-wise that I could have made good use of it.

    5.9L Magnum recipe...

Picked the block up from the machine shop. They say the block's bores are worn .0015" - .0020" and just recommend the smallest overbore necessary depending on the pistons I find. The crank is fine at standard size. I'm nervous about leaving the bores alone and having to tear it apart again. I'd...

    5.9L Magnum recipe...

Interesting stuff about the transmissions. I thought about using the Magnum distributor for cam position, so it's cool to see that others are doing the same thing. I'm going to get the block back from the machine shop, see if the machinist actually provides bore measurements...If not, borrow a...

    5.9L Magnum recipe...

LS3s came in newer Camaros and Corvettes, plus a few other vehicles in various tune/trim. They are rated at 426 HP or 430 HP at the crank, depending on which numbers you look at. Rear-wheel dynos have them putting anywhere between 350 and 370 HP and about the same in ft-lbs. to the ground in...

    5.9L Magnum recipe...

So I've got this 166,000-mile 5.9L Magnum I picked up for $300. It's torn down at this point and the machine shop has given it a clean bill of health for a rebuild. Now I get to pick parts. What do I want out of the engine? A good, solid, fun driver that makes good power on 87-octane gas. I'm...

    chat

The old chat setup was not great, but the new system is abysmally bad. Just set up an IRC channel already somewhere and offer a web client for those that don't want to use a stand-alone IRC client.

    Achievement unlocked: Tied the knot!

On Saturday, 12 July 2014, I married the woman I've loved for a large portion of my adult life. :) Amy Lohn and I put on a nice, short wedding ceremony officiated by a judge, then threw one hell of a reception with about two hundred of our closest family and friends. :) The wedding ceremony...

I don't generally move bare blocks around...Where do you guys hook chains to on your bare 5.9L magnum blocks? Head bolts? Thanks!

    k-member reinforcement

So if you do short sections when welding the seams up, move around and such, you shouldn't need a jig to keep the k-member square or anything, right? I've always wondered if things will deform when doing the seam welding. I have the Firm Feel plates ready for my k-member and have been holding off.

    LCA repair options...

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. After first looking at the LCAs and visualizing the range of motion the pivot could possibly run through, I thought that the open area looked pretty unsupported. Guess I'm not crazy after all.

    LCA repair options...

Yes, I have swaybar-tabbed LCAs. I'm not sure I can cleanly split one side away. We'll see. Sounds like a good idea, though. I like your extra gusseting of the pivot area.

    LCA repair options...

So, I have a set of '73-'76 swaybar LCAs. Before I knew any better, I welded on the stiffening plates. Now that I know better, I realize that was a huge mistake. I found Jim Lusk's video and one of the LCAs I have appears to be mildly bad, while the other one is at least as bad as the worst one...

    Family=drama???

My folks disconnected from most of the extended family when I was young, so I've managed to avoid a bunch of drama that way until recently. My dad is a stand-up guy and has been the executor for relatives' estates, some of which he's had no contact with for years. Cue drama...The sister with the...
