Hey folks, Trying to make room in the garage before spring. Located in 99336 Kennewick WA. Can ship the smaller stuff but I don't have the weights on any of this. I will trade/partial cash for an Abody disc brake setup BBP (including arms and spindles), thats really all I'd consider for...

[FOR SALE] Plug and play - Headlight Relay Kits

I didn't buy a kit from crackedback (yet), I opted for SlantSixDan's kit (doesn't include wiring, hence cheaper). However, I wished I went with the cracked kit for this reason alone: Driving to NAPA, buying the wire, cutting it a little short for the high beam run, having to go BACK to NAPA...

72 duster tail light repops discovered?

Stumbled across this site selling repopped 72 tail lights. Has anyone bought a set that could comment on the quality? Or are these NOT the tail lights I'm looking for ? (waves hand) http://www.restorationperformance.com/1972-duster-fastback-tail-light-lens-lh/

    Eastwood body saw

Guys be careful with the Harbor Junk air saws. The piston has an aluminum stud which inserts into the steel collar that holds the blade on. I've stripped my last 2 brand new HJ air saws at that aluminum stud location. They are super handy for tight/confined cuts, but if you lug them down even...

    Setting timing on a 225??

To add to Bruces comment, you can get a Harbor Junk 7/16" wrench and apply heat and bend it so it fits around and under the distributor. Be sure to accommodate for the trigger wires so they don't hit the wrench as you tighten or loosen the distributor. Crafty individuals can weld a long...

75 duster slant six weak spark

Final update on this. Installed a new Crane Hi-6 Fireball ignition. Midrange miss is totally gone. I suspect either a bad factory ECU or ground on it.

    slant six dizzy problem

I bought a cardone from amazon a few months ago. Same exact situation for me as well, but i had my original distributor to rob parts from.

I wonder if this is how the wives tale of "store your batteries in the freezer" came to fruition?

75 duster slant six weak spark

UPDATE. The car starts and runs. Got a packard 56 connector from NAPA (85 cents) for the brown coil + wire, cleaned the firewall connectors with brake cleaner (didn't have electrical cleaner) and got all that buttoned back up including filling the female connectors with dielectric grease. I...

75 duster slant six weak spark

I decided to dive into the bulkhead connector. Mine had this tar lookin crap on top of the connectors in the engine bay which I had to scrape off so the connectors would come out. Minor PITA but I got them off. I found all connections were bright shiny brass, looks like the tar protected it over...

75 duster slant six weak spark

I can re-check the ohms on coil again for you no problem. How would I test the brown wire into the bulkhead? Tell me if this works: Unhook brown wire connector which includes the red/green wire from the ballast resistor. Find the flat white plastic connector inside the car along the...

75 duster slant six weak spark

Amongst the thousands of posts about weak/no spark, here is my problem. 75 duster slant six/automatic. A/C. It has spark, but its very weak and won't start/fire. I'll be perfectly clear with ALL of you, I'm no electronics wizard, I just plain don't understand it enough to troubleshoot under...

May Purchase this 73' duster, need some help!

Just an FYI, I bought my 73 duster with a 318 automatic and it had a 7.25 rear in it. Bought it from the original owner. I later installed a 360 (late 70's motor from an aspen) and put a 4 bbl on it. The rear end held up fine. Granted I didn't do any neutral drops in it nor drag raced it either....

    70 Duster rear seat belt???

I just picked up a 72 duster the other day, the capacity plate on the door sill states max persons is 3 in the front and 2 in the back. What does your plate say? You could add a set of belts, but there isn't much spring in the back middle seat. Indeed it is the mother in law seat. :)

whats the wierdest things you found in your car

Nothing weird, but I found an OLD *** craftsman....its what they used before they invented ratchets (I dont know what they called them before that). It looks like a 5/8" diameter allen wrench but the ends were 4 sided with the little ratchet retention bb's pressed into 1 side (just like the...

Top fender mounted turn signal issues

You have no idea how much this thread just saved my ***. I kept thinking there was some electrical sorcery built into my duster and had planned to tear into the dash to find a short in the fender signal light somewhere. Couldn't for the life of me figure out why the Duster fender signal kept...

    pcv valve help

I drilled my offy cover on the flat part where the fins end towards the rear of the head. Theres a mod I followed on slantsix.org. I used the delco breather with the pcv valve hole in it. Requires 2 gaskets, one for the head, one for the breather hole for pcv.

yikes...white smoke now, no oil to top end

Agree with /Matt here. A leakdown test might be safer than a compression test, also more accurate.

Could someone help me with this?

I can confirm Cosgig's diagnosis via experience. Had a 67 dart slant with points, the distributor bushings were worn out. The car started and idled fine, even drove fine, but on random occasions, the distributor shaft would wobble around in there and caused ignition problems and it would die. I...

    Any idea what causes this?

I hate to add my suggestions to a thread that already has TONS of good info but I feel it is worth mentioning. I'd highly recommend getting a vacuum gauge. That way you can set the idle to the highest vacuum reading. The vac gauge can tell you things you wouldn't know otherwise. Also, spray...

Looking to Meet Some Mopar Guys Spokane Wa Area

We had Autoskraps, but Phil (the owner) decided to pack up shop for good. God damn I took that place for granted. He had this subsection of the yard that was like a vintage junkyard. Stuff from the late 30's to the early 60's. All the mopars you'll find now are in fields or on farms. There's a...

    Motor dies after startup.

Got my valves adjusted. There was a stumble off idle when pressing the gas like when you're leaving a stop light. The valve adjustment fixed that (I knew the accelerator pump was working as I could see a steady shot into the carb). Also finally installed the offenhauser valve cover after...
