Gasser axle [a/d100 shortened ]on 66 valiant

The Hedman Huslers....true fenderwells...the Hooker "semi fenderwells" hit the springs. I don't have the part number handy but I believe there is only one application for a smallblock in an early A.

Gasser axle [a/d100 shortened ]on 66 valiant

I would still use the 4 inch dropped axle if I were to do it again. The undropped axle sits too high in my opinion, and it still might end up needing some spacers. The 4 inch dropped axle worked fine with a little spacing, and you can use the stock steering box and k-member. Dropped steering...

It's still not finished, but it's close...just needs the interior, and some minor things. It has Super Stock springs on the rear, so no need for the ladder bars. It's more of an A/FX style car than a straight up gasser.

Gasser axle [a/d100 shortened ]on 66 valiant

Or, you could skip all that and use a Speedway Motors kit, and have brand new front suspension, disc brakes, steering arms, and drag link, and even use the stock, manual, steering box, and K-member if you would like. The kit with the smaller mustang II brakes will work with most wheels, and...

    Early A-Body Windshields, good purchase!

The one for my '64 Valiant was under $200 installed, from the local "chain" mobile glass place....that was with my gasket and lock strip, and included the install of my rear glass, also with my gasket and lock strip....

Thanks! The Fairlane sounds like an awesome sleeper...must have been a blast! I have a Cleveland in that '61 Galaxie in those pics (and elsewhere in this thread), and although there are still a few bugs to work out with the car...it pulls hard!

Thanks! It sounds like yours will be fun. My clubmate has built three Slant Six powered cars. A roots-blown T-bucket, a turbo Model A roadster, and a multi-carbed rail dragster. All very fast cars.

    Another Newb Question!

Clicking noise like "pinging" from the engine? Does it only do it upon excelleration? Might try backing off the timing a little, and/or higher octane gas if it is pinging.

Be aware of 66 Valiant/Barracuda lenses on eBay

I bought a set of the 1964 Valiant ones from them, and they look fine. They were going for big bucks at first, but I ended up paying $50 for a set. Of course they aren't going to be as nice as some NOS ones....but not the $400 each that some clowns ask for a single NOS lense on there...

Breakstuff....here are the parts. This is the 4-inch dropped axle...they make a complete kit(brakes, spindles, and steering components), but I only see it with the undropped axle....They just don't look good that high in the front in my opinion, so the 4-inch drop is about right...even if you...
