    [SOLD] 1972 Plymouth Duster

$9500 OBO. Up for sale is a 1972, 318, 2-barrel, numbers matching Plymouth Duster. Power steering/manual drum brakes. The car was purchased from a fellow member several years ago, and ran and drove then. Since then, the following work was done: 1. Professional tear down and rebuild of the...

Clicking noise from dragging front brake

I recently had a shop complete some front end work on my 72 Duster. There is still some play in the steering, but the main concern came from the brakes. After one of the rear shoes fell off in the drum not a day after having the car back, a couple days later I noticed a clicking sound coming...

    318 2bl vacuum hose diagram

Does anybody know where I can find a diagram for the vacuum hoses of a 318 2 barrel. I have a '72 Duster that is running very rough after winter storage, and need to hook up the vacuum hoses the way the factory intended them to be. Thanks!

Getting ready to pull my Duster out of storage...

Getting ready to pull my '72 Duster out of winter storage. Any advice on what should be done besides basics (tune up, fluid changes etc.)?

Not my A body, but winter Sebring

I'll check the itre pressure in the morning and see if they are over inflated. Also, a side note, I noticed on the front bolt for the spring is pretty close to the tire. I've never seen this on a car before, but then I've never had a newer car before.

Not my A body, but winter Sebring

I checked the tires. there is no sign of uneven wearing. The lugs are all tight; I don't own a torque wrench. My concern was I don't want to warp the rotors. But then, This car goes back into storage around April and I'll be back to driving my Duster everyday

Not my A body, but winter Sebring

I guess I'll do what I should have done in the first place and take it to a dealership. It seems every single independent shop here is incompetent! I've never had this problem before, usually the small shops are where you want to go, imo.

Not my A body, but winter Sebring

Today I had the tires of my winter car, a 2004 Chrysler Sebring, rotated. I would have done it my self but without a garage in snow land, that can be interesting. Anyway, after the rotation, there is a loud thumping noise when breaking or accelerating at low speeds. Once the car picks up speed...

    So, what ever happened to.....

I had an '83 280zx. Those were the most loathed of the Z cars. That coupled with rust, they just didn't last up here in the north.

    Perfection

Good for you! Good luck with the restoration. I agree, we need to save as many of them as possible. To all the naysayers, they will have a different attitude someday, when all the mopars are long gone and there aren't really any left, that aren't already fully restored or in a museum. How many...

    cl scam?

Yes Its a scam. I have received several of those, "offers" every time I have sold things on Craigslist. They use it as a way to steal your bank account information. They send you a fake check, you take it in to be deposited. The fraudulent company uses the transaction information to get into...

Craigslist advertisement for a car and then robbing them at gunpoint

I've felt relatively safe going to a well lit area to look at a car (with no cash or credit cards on me). Then going to the DMV and making the deal in front of the notary at the title office. This is of course after taking down the VIN and calling my insurance company to make sure the car is clean.

shootout at the hotrod shop today!

I've bought a couple of cars off craigslist. I always went with someone to take a look. Never have cash on me. Then to make the deal, they meet me at the DMV and I've handed the seller the cash in front of the notary at the title office. Just an extra precaution. I really doubt someone would be...

    junkyard grandmas 75 valiant 4door

Why was this car junked? it looks like it would be a half-way decent first car for someone. I hate it when companies like this seem to get a kick out of destroying our country's great automotive heritage. The younger generations need to know that cars didn't always suck!

what was the last year for just lap belts?

It possibly could have been. It was as bare-bones as they come. According to the build sheet, it appeared the AM radio and automatic transmission were the only "upgrades", if thats what it would be called, it came with.

what was the last year for just lap belts?

My '70 Valiant just had lap belts. It seemed to have the original headliner, and with no tears or holes where the mechanism may have been.

    First Car Stories

First car was a '90 Escort wagon. The transmission went out, along other things in the POS, which led me to Toyota. I had wanted an A body since I was 4, and saw Duel, but finding one was hard. I eventually found a '70 Valiant, 225 /6 in sad shape. So I did what any inexperienced person did, I...

    The "NEW" GM

I find it funny when people call Toyota's, "Commie Cars". It is a sad day when a Japanese car is actually more American than Big Three automakers today. I remember seeing something several years ago that compared a Toyota Corolla to a Ford Mustang. They found there were far more American made...

1970 v 2013: How the Darts Stack up

I have never really cared for modern cars, until the new Challenger came out. (Thats probably the first car made in the last 20-25 years I would consider buying. But thats just my opinion.) I thought that Chrysler should have done that with the Dart. Maybe modeled the new one off of the 67-69...
