I bought the $17 edelbrock cleaner so I could pull the foam and run the mesh to keep the big chunks from going in the Carb. I can't remember the dude's name

    drag racing induction sys

Made it to the track, and it was feeling a LOT healthier. BUUUT: Some rain came through, and Gateway kicked everyone out before anyone ran. I didn't even get off the trailer. Did get to meet some cool people, in particular, a dude with a notchback primer black cuda. I've got my rain...

No insulation under hood, and I've got an edelbrock foam air cleaner that looks a lot less restrictive. Timing was too far advanced, and I'm going to check my valve adjustment today. One thing though. I just got done reading the thread here where a member blew up his 727 and "only" broke...

Well, it's time to break out the big guns.

wow. If mine was in that state, I'd consider it done, and enjoy it. Wait. I'm deluding myself. I'd probably do what you're doing, and re-doing it again. I just wouldn't have tried to sell it. That's a REAL nice car.

    drag racing induction sys

I really appreciate all the suggestions and constructive criticisms from everyone who has replied to this thread. It's quite obvious that I've got SOMETHING, and maybe multiple somethings holding this car down. It's back to square one, and once I get off this streak of working mids, I'm...

    drag racing induction sys

I'm getting some conflicting advice here. I was starting to think a cross ram with the two 4 bbls was a step in the right direction, but I have several people (here and in meatspace) telling me an 830 double pumper would be fine. I understand that's a big carb for other engines (like...

Something I didn't consider. This engine sits higher than it should, due to an engine plate I used. My air cleaner may be too small, for Hood clearance . That's where ill start. Can't get back to Gateway for two weeks. So I'm not going to be able to find out until then.

Ignition is mopar electronic. Going down track, car just felt like a go cart with a governor on it.

I forgot: 27" tall tire. No problems doing burnout, but couldn't get engine to go above 5300 rpm at top end. Also: Holley blue pump, non return regulator, 3/8 fuel line, #8 fittings at fuel cell, Carb. Hydraulic can. Don't remember specs, at work, cam card at home. As are the time slips.

Rear end: HD Dana 60 from a 1 ton Chevy, 35 spline axles, Yukon spool, 4:10 gears. Disc brakes, super stock springs. 15x10 rims w/ Mickey Thompson street slicks. Hooking wasn't a problem. Transmission : built 727, STD pattern, billet 3000 stall. Engine: 472 Hemi. 9.5 compression, iron...

Took the 472 Hemi 1969 barracuda to test n tune at Gateway in Illinois Wednesday. 1st time ever for me or the car. Apparently a Holley 830 cfm double Pumper on a mopar dual plane isn't enough for this motor. I was topped out by the 1/8 mile, went 14.5 sec, 94 MPH. I think it needs...

    fuel cell follies

Any pics of fastback trunk firewalls would be appreciated. I'm having trouble visualizing a firewall that seals all the way across and still allows me to use the stock hinges for the trunk lid

    fuel cell follies

In the previous photo, the cell is upside down. And don't worry. A .050 aluminum firewall is going in between the trunk and the rest of the car. Also, the steel strap hold-down kit is going in too. As long as I put such a huge-a$$ hole in the tank, the foam came out, and I'm going to put...

    fuel cell follies

Aaaaaand, I almost forgot. The front wall of the cell had to change shape if the plywood door to the passenger compartment is going back in.

Here's a center rear sump starting.

Not really, and right side sumps only work in NASCAR.

    fuel cell follies

My car is a project that has no defined end state, so it's turning into some Frankenstein in-between sort of ride. Case in point : I wanted 3" exhaust out the back in order to license it for the street. There isn't enough room for that and the stock gas tank. so the trunk mount battery will...

    1969 a-body wiper motor

Hey 69DarttoArt, do you need me to post the schematic I found? It actually shows the motor internals rather than the wire line diagrams.

    1969 a-body wiper motor

I think I figured it out. My 1973 service manual actually has the schematics for 2 and 3 speed motors. The park circuit is inoperative on my two speed wiper motor. The resistor is supposed to be in series with the low speed. Using some jumpers, I found that of the 4 spade connectors...

    1969 a-body wiper motor

My painless harness went in great, but they refer you back to the original harness for more than a few things. I don't know where I put the engine harness I took out. Does anyone know how to hook up a 1969 two speed wiper motor? The original switch has two output wires, the motor has a...
