Good thing I had heavy leather gloves on!

Glad you are ok. I do a lot of metal repairs, and my first recommendation is never buy a grinder that doesn't have a trigger style switch. The one with the on/off switch won't turn off, unless you turn it off. Trigger style turns off as soon as you let go.

    Drum to Disc MC Issues

Look in the bore of the new master cylinder. There should be a groove for the little rubber retainer to lock into. Bench bleed the master cylinder. They sell kits cheap at the auto parts store. Mount the master, line up the push rod, and just step on the pedal to lock the rod into the bore. You...

Jumper cables? Nah....there is a newer better solution.

In regards to helping people with a jump start, my Dad had a problem, and needed a jump. My Dad's car had an electrical issue, and it burned up my wiring. After that, I prefer not to use jumper cables. Now, I sure that I will get some flak, but, I bought a Harbor freight jump box, and it...

Yet another ballast question, maybe different this time

First, a big thank you to those who replied. Second, the problem turned out to be the choke wire slipped off the terminal, and was grounding out. I went through everything and made sure it was all good. Oddly, the first ballast resistor didn't fail. But I am going to get a couple spares.

Yet another ballast question, maybe different this time

Thanks, I will check that. Will an ECU still start the car if it is defective? Because whatever is wrong, the car ran for about 20 seconds each time, and then shut off, but the ballast didn't stop being red hot, and smoking, until I disconnected the battery.

Yet another ballast question, maybe different this time

I haven't started looking yet. I had to winch it back into the garage. After that, I left it for when I have some idea where to start. I know hot is normal, but I question is red hot, and smoking normal?

Yet another ballast question, maybe different this time

Ok guys, I built my 69 Dart over 10 years ago. 340 swinger. It has run flawlessly the whole time. When I built the car, I installed a electronic ignition kit from Direct Connection. I think the kit was from the 80's. So, it has a single ballast. I went to drive it today, after sitting for a...

Door panel belt or window seal molding glue?

Maybe use pop rivets in the more solid areas, and yellow weatherstrip adhesive.

exhaust pipe diameter for a mildly modified 340

I went with manifolds, and a TTI 2.5 inch exhaust. The fit on the driver's side is tight, but doesn't hit. I did need to cut a 5/8 wrench to tighten the bolts. The other concern is sound. Smaller pipes IMO sound like pea shooters.

exhaust pipe diameter for a mildly modified 340

Maybe so, but due to some of the comments here, not everyone knows.

exhaust pipe diameter for a mildly modified 340

An episode of Engine Masters shows that an engine does not need backpressure. Check it out on YouTube.

    contour paint stripper

I was doing my inner door panels on my F100 ( they are steel). I tried the HF Contour stripper, and it's heavy for older people. I went back to my DA. It was faster. I haven't tried it on any large surfaces.

Very rough week last week. I had to have Roman put to sleep.

What a beautiful cat. Looks like my Chessie cat who died at 8. Broke my heart. I'm very sorry Roman passed away. Maybe the new kitty knew that you needed comfort.

Fried Blue Fld wire from Alternator

Does the top field terminal have an isolator on it? If so, I would take it back to the store, and have it tested.

    PowerSteering

Since you didn't say what you are referring to, I'll assume its about adjusting the pressure. You remove the pressure line, and remove the valve assembly, take it apart, and add, or subtract machined washers to change pressure. Should be videos on YouTube.

    PowerSteering

It doesn't leak like the old ones, they are easier to find, and the pressure can be adjusted.

    PowerSteering

This is the answer. Unless you don't mind non stock, you can use the superior Saginaw pump, but it will require the brackets to mount it.

Tired of Body Filler Hardening Too Quickly?

I have added resin to body filler. It gives a smooth application. Great for when you get towards the bottom of the can, and can extend cure times.

    lawn tractor not charging

I know that I have a different model, but my sears stopped charging. It was a diode on one of the wires. Mower guy checked it one way, and it was fine. Checked another, and it was bad. Been charging ever since. You might want to check for this if the other suggestions don't pan out.

    home ceramic coating headers ??

I was wondering if the ceramic coating will be able to be sandblasted off? I would like to try ceracoat. My Hedman headers are rusty after 2 years. Some TTI customers have had the same problem. So, I'm not comfortable with buying Doug's, or TTI with the coating.

    steering box firm feel opinions

I have used both the firm feel, and Borgeson. I like the Firm Feel, because it bolted right in, and works with the stock pump. I have stage 3. I wish it was a stage 2. I feel the stage 3 is good for autocross, but not that great for daily driving. Borgeson is more expensive. I bought the...
