Advice asked for widthening rims on a 70 Duster

First of all: thnx so far everyone for thinking along and helping I might have another solution with which I might keep my original 14" steel rims original. I have the opportunity tot get some steel 15" rims that come off a pt cruiser, it has 5 x 100 bolt pattern. Does anyone know if these will...

Advice asked for widthening rims on a 70 Duster

@halfafish: that is very cool, thnx, i love the stance with the 205/70 combined with the 245's. It makes me wanna go to 7 inch with a 235, 245 or 255. In front i will need to go from the current 205/75/14 on a 5.5 J rim to a 205/70/14 on that same rim. In the back I can easily go from 5.5 J to...

Advice asked for widthening rims on a 70 Duster

Tinman2, thnx..!! That car has the perfect looks on its wheels... 275 would probably better he says... Still pretty wide I will have to recalculate.. 295/50 would mean its height is 50% of 295 mm. Somewhere just a little less then 6 inches then

Advice asked for widthening rims on a 70 Duster

George Jets, yeah, I was thinking that too. To solve the problem of the car being too high in the front I was thinking to go to 205/70 instead of the 75 currently. That way the stance will be better I assume, when 235/60/14 are mounted in the back. There would be only a difference in height...

Advice asked for widthening rims on a 70 Duster

Thnx, I found out that much indeed, I have a brandnew set of cragar ss 17/45/235/8" which I temporarely mounted on the car with adapters to convert to the 5 x 4,5 pattern ( they will go on my 69 charger when finished the resto one time) , but due to the adapters the rims are 1" too wide for...

Advice asked for widthening rims on a 70 Duster

Cool, but that tyre size isnt available in 14". What would height 60 do on a 14" / 235? Compared to the front wheel which is 205/75/14?

Advice asked for widthening rims on a 70 Duster

Hi all, I need some help. I have a 70 Duster, stock height. 8 3/4 rear axle. Small bolt pattern (5x4"). Current rims and tyres are all 4: 14" x 5.5 J rims with 205/75/14 tyres. In front I am pretty confident, tyres might be 70 high instead of 75. In the back I want to go wider. Now I found...

Yep...that''s green....very nice car indeed. Here's my Duster. It was mostly dark green when I bought it. After taking of 9(!!) layers of spray it turned out to be original light green (anyone knows the name/code of the original color?). I repaired some area's, mounted new tyres, did some...

    "Nice car"

Yes, the #'s are matching, except for one thing. When I bought the car the front seats weren't usable anymore at all, so I replaced them with 1985 Volvo seats as they fold away to the side, just as the original seats. I also gave the seats away to a guy who was restoring a Challenger. Dumb...

    "Nice car"

Most of the people where I live don't usually see an American car at all. When they do it's normally not that old, so most people don't even know what car it is, other than that it is an old American. When I am driving I get a lot of thumbs up and kids turning their heads and pointing out to...

Bumper Guards on a 70-72 Duster

@1972DusterPaul: As you can see there are not 2 holes above eachother on each side close to the numberplate. At my bumper there is only 1. However, my bumperguard is mounted the same way as yours and there has never been changed a bumper on this car nor added the guards later. This is all...

Hemmings Top 32 Cars to Restore

Due to this thread, I think I will hold on a little longer to my 318 Duster..lol I bought the car because the resto of my 69 Charger was taking 'a little' more time than expected...But over the years I have began to appreciate the car as much as the charger and even got married in it last year...

    "Nice car"

I have a similar story about my car: It is an originally new delivered car here in 1970 (Europe, the Netherlands) and has been driven here ever since. It has the Duster 70 grille and short horizontal taillights, but is on the title a Dodge Dart GT Coupe(I think they were of 68-69?)....The title...

    "Nice car"

People always say when I tell it's a Duster: And what model? And the word Plymouth is most of the time something they have never heard of......So every time I gladly tell about Chrysler and Mopars and then leave them behind with alot more knowledge than they ever had before about Mopars....

    68 Dart GT 340 Fire

This is really something no one ever should be a victim of...it sucks. Therefor I do not only take of my batterycable at all times, but I also take out the battery when I don't drive the car. It is only a 20 sec thing to do...Hope you can find yourself another nice Mopar..good luck

Bumper Guards on a 70-72 Duster

QuoteWedge 340:Amazing how nobody has a 70-72 Duster with bumper guards on this site. I have bumperguards on my 70 Duster.:yawinkle: Both front and rear, only my Duster seems to have the rear and front-bumperguards more to the outersides, at front and rear. It is original, cause there are no...

NE1 make a template for drilling the dual scoop holes on a 71 Duster??

I bought a template from Taz and according to him it fits my 70/71 Duster, so it shoudn't be a problem using one of his. I haven't come to install my scoops yet, due to the bad weather here (Europe, the Netherlands), but from what I have measured it should fit. I bought the scoops earlier on on...

its done in red what do you think

Great car, like the red! The car also looks very clean!! Like your rims, but would have gone for something darker, like dark chrome or something, to even make the red look more bright than it already is...Nice interior also
