on my 340, stock rods, there is a hole about 1/16th of an inch in the bearing where the two half bearing shells come together. It goes through side of rod by bolt. I think this is to oil cylinder wall. Do you think i should use bearings with or without this hole. Have clevit 77 now with hole...

when installing caps do the notches in bearing cap and rod go on opposite sides, not top and bottom? thanks

Where can I find billet main caps for 340? All I can find are ducile iron caps like mancini has

When you install girdle do you, shim up to girdle or is it best to machine main caps down even with the bolt hole. Motor is 340 (10.5 to 1) with rhs heads (62cc) with port and polish from brian at imm. Cam is 249/255 @50. I think (hope) about 475 hp. Thanks guys:glasses2:

What kind of plug did you use between the oil feed and oil return crossing? standard soft plug? The one I drilled out was 9/16 by 3/4 long and solid metal. Thanks again for all of your help. Gary

Thanks guys, I talked to a cylinder head shop and they were scared to mill spring pocket without sonic testing or someone tell them they could go that deep. They said to use long stem valves which is also what my mopar engine book (8th ed) says to do. Book says to use stock TA rockers, but move...

My j heads have spring height of 1.70 and I want to go to 1.85 for a lunati cam, so I will use long stem valves. Can I shim the rocker shaft .150? If so, where can I get them? thanks gary:thumblef:

I did not see the cross over tube in the screened valley pic. Do you need the cross over tube with a solid roller? Do you drill 5/16 holes between #2 and #4 main to cam and to rockers? The pics are a great help, keep them coming. Thanks

Need help choosing rod bearings with the full or half circle groove for oiling. rod journels are .020 Have been told clevitt 77 does not make them.:sad10: King does, but I have never used them. Who do you like, or think has the best bearings
