Hello, Looking for a correct bumper jack for early A (I have a 63 Dart convert). Need base, jack, tire iron, hold down items for spare, and spring I guess (for holding down the jack? I'm not sure--going off what I've seen in internet--I don't have so not sure). What do you have? Thanks, Brent

I just pump the crap out of the gas pedal while cranking. If you flood it, floor it and crank until it catches, then pump a little more as it gets going.

Sweet car! I've got the 3 on the tree in my 63, and a manual top, with no ps/pb. I dig your idea of the FM converter for period coolness. I found a neat converter on ebay that's either going in my Dart or Galaxie.

Looks like a neat little Val. That one picture of the sprayed on black stuff is a little scary though. How are the quarters? Also, with that back window open, hopefully it was covered--otherwise rear floors will be toast (guess how I know!) Pretty little ride--good luck!

Yeah, we tried that on my brother's V8 65 Ranchero, sold to family even....didn't work so well... I just don't sell anything.

My headlight rings were trashed, so I bought a set of only halfway thrashed ones (they were still squashed). I used one of the companies that used to advertise "trim and pot metal restoration" in the front of the Hemmings big yellow catalogs. This was 1998, and it cost $110 per side to fix, but...

My 63 did this--got a reman carb and problem fixed.

As far as I know, they don't reproduce the correct ones for 63-66 A bodies. I could be wrong though. Not sure if the later ones (like Dante's has) will work. I just bought used ones. They come up now and then.

I wouldn't drive it in Detroit in the winter. Why trash it out? That said, daily driving older stuff depends on the area...not just because of snow and salt either. I have an old car (Porsche 914) where I'm stationed right now in RI, with my Dart stil in CA. I don't drive the 914 daily...

I did the same--found a more-door 64 parts car, and figured I'd make the pans work as much as possible for my 63 convert. Hell--they dropped right in! :blob: Maybe try some of the desert junkyards that advertise good metal, and have them ship.

Just the gasket is different--not the glass--between convertible and hardtop, right???
