I installed a rebuilt alternator in my '68 Barracuda this afternoon. I noticed the interior lights have a slight flickering to them at idle. The output of the alt is ok. Is this normal? Can a bad battery be the cause. Please advise. Thanks

Going to change my '68 318 auto trans fluid and filter some time this summer. Do I have to use a pan gasket or can I use just rtv sealant? If I don't have to use a gasket is there a clearance issue with the filter or something else in the trans? Thanks

Well I went out to the garage and took the distributor advance plate out on the work bench. Found that the pivot stud wasn't broken but was not peened in place properly when new and finally fell out. This dist has an oil cup for the upper bushing. Here are a few pics.

Anybody here in Winnipeg know where I can get my original distributer rebuilt or where I can get the bushings? I'd like to keep my Barracuda as original as possible.

Please help. When I remove the negative battery cable and put a meter from the negative battery cable to the negative battery post I get a reading of battery voltage. The alternator field and output connections are disconnected. I've taken the fuses out one by one and still get the same reading...
