    lokar dipstick...

Red high temp silicone. The question is whether the fitting nut has to sit flush with the case. If it does my luck is running true to form cause mine will not go all the way in.

    lokar dipstick...

Bought a Lokar firewall mount dipstick for the Dart and it appears to be a nice piece. However, according to the instructions you are supposed to put some "automotive silicone" around the base of the tube fitting nut before installing, which I did. The question I have is should this part be snug...

    Holley Red Pump?

Need some opinions about my Red Holley Electric pump. Ironically enough, on my way to the gas station I ran out of gas (non working gas gauge). The wife brought me a couple of gallons and off to the station. The problem is that now the pump is howling so loud you can hear it above the car...

    MacGyver lives!

In case any of you were wondering if ol' MacGyver is still alive and well, I can assure you he is alive and well and living in CA! And...unfortunately I bought my car from him! LOL! Some people should not be allowed to own tools. For example, went to change the engine oil for the first time...

    Dex 6?

Anybody try using Dex 6 in their 727's? I gonna be doing a trans service and I am considering trying it. According to Union 76 application charts it is specified for 70 and up Chrysler Products. It is a synthetic fluid and I am running a stall converter. It should deal with the heat issues...

    leaky headers......

Ok, The percy's gaskets are great! I still have a leak however. The center ports are where the leak is. I filed them as flat as I could but unfortunately the flange (at head) is tweaked pretty good. Is there a possible fix that I could do to help the situation, or is it new header time? I did...

    Breather filter?

Need some help with some Cal Custom valve covers on my 440. They use a twist and lock type breather and unfortunately one of them abandoned ship during a test run last Sunday. The one's on the motor now are really cheesy and I would like to get some nice ones. This is the challenge. Anybody have...

    Anyone else lose interest?

I took a 30 year break from Mopars. Been doin the Harley thing all this time. Sold a really nice project Charger back in 1980 to finish my first Harley and I have to admit, the bikes are fun. But then it happened! I had to have a hot rod again. A Mopar hot rod. Bought the Dart a couple months...

    leaky headers......

I'm in Vail. SE of Tucson. I bought a set of Percy's Aluminum gaskets. Will report on the outcome and let everybody know the outcome. I don't have bad warp age on the flanges so these should do it. Thanks for the replies.

    leaky headers......

If one has a problem with warped header flanges, what would be the best gaskets to use to help seal em up? I put a new set of Fel-pro on and....they didn't work real well. It is going on a 440 with fenderwells.

    Hello, from Tucson, Az

That is a sweetheart. I was watching it on craigslist I believe, and boy it was tempting. But alas, I just bought a 69 and I'm committed to this one,but man that is a nice Dart! I'm in Vail so maybe I'll get to see her in person some day. Good luck to ya!

    8 3/4 rear brake backing plates, 10x2 1/2"?

Before they go on fleabay I thought I would give you guys an opportunity to grab these. They are off the A-body 8 3/4 in my Dart. I believe they are for the BBP setup, cause they sure as hell didn't work real good with the SBP setup I currently have. When I measured the gap between the 1 3/4"...

    sbp 8 3/4" drum size?

Just an update. The car has an 8 3/4 I am assuming out of an A body car, but apparently a later model Dart. Whoever did the swap obviously did not know what they were doing and did not change the backing plates, and went ahead and put the sbp brake setup on the car. Very stupid, and very...

    sbp 8 3/4" drum size?

I think I have figured out what is going on. The person who swapped the rear end did not change the backing plates to the sbp plates, I think. I bought some on ebay today that are correct for the application. Hopefully these will work a little better than the previous setup. Whoever did the swap...

    sbp 8 3/4" drum size?

Will try and upload pics again when I get to the casa. For some reason they would not upload this am. I'm thinkin that the rear brakes that are currently on the car may be a mismatch. The shoe does not touch the guide pads on the backing plate. This is a problem. It had caused the shoes to sit...

    sbp 8 3/4" drum size?

I am trying to redo the rear brakes on my dart and I am quite confused at this point. The shoes are 10x 1-3/4", drums are 10x2". When I pulled it apart the shoes and drums were hashed, with a diagonal wear pattern on the shoes? The shoes do not fit the backing plates and appear to be to small...

    69 Dart window trims

Yep, that's the one. There is some rubber u-channel that holds it to the glass that I need. The ones on the dart just ain't working any longer. Dry rot I believe. I have not been able to find the exact replacements, however there are some company's I found online that do manufacture rubber...
