Thanks 66fs, l’d prefer a flat tappet solid stick but there’s been a spate of cam & lifter failures in the past few years. I’ve never wiped a cam before, and would prefer it to stay that way. Ideally l’d like to build a mild 300 hp 273 that runs nice on the street with a 4-speed and 3.23 gears.

When DV mentions 'stroking' the 318 crank I think he's only trying to get the factory piston to zero deck height, that's it (0.030"-0.080"). So, in my mind he'll be using OEM pistons and probably selecting the lightest ones he can find from a pile of shitty cast 318 OEM pistons. DV's difficult...

aaronk785, that's my biggest concern also. I have a set of Flowtech headers that I haven't installed yet, they look good but will hang down too low on the drivers side. What did you use to paint the raw headers? Is the finish any good?
