    Scamp Repaired - Thanks QuickBpBp!

Hey guys, Some of you might've seen my posts a couple of months ago - I had a small crash in my '72 Scamp. I went under the back of a pickup truck at about 15mph. It folded up my hood a bit and smashed the grille. I was absolutely panicking - They didn't sell Scamps/Dusters over her in...

[SOLD] 70-2 Duster Valiant Grille Center

Sorry to leave you hanging, mate - Insurance company is still dicking me around. I really appreciate your patience. If it sells before they get their act together, that's no worries. Also, I owe you a beer for wrapping it up and carting it to UPS and back for the quote!

[SOLD] hundred of mopars being parted out

I'd be grateful forever if you could see if they have a straight hood for a 70-72 scamp/duster.. If they do, i'll contact them and see if they'll ship overseas. I crashed my Scamp and am desperate!

[SOLD] 70-2 Duster Valiant Grille Center

Hey man - I'll take this, but would need shipping to Australia (Brisbane, QLD 4000) I know it's a pain, but I'd be so appreciative if you could investigate it. I'll pay all the costs, obviously. Crashed my Scamp today and they weren't sold here, so parts are a nightmare.

    Centering new rearend ?

Wow, that is pretty close! Although I was in Omaha a few months ago, so it's not out of the question. Thanks for confirming those measurements.

    Centering new rearend ?

I owe you a beer next time I'm in Nebraska.

    Centering new rearend ?

Now I'm confused... Would you be able to give your measurements between spring perch centres (probably 43") and then distance from each perch centre to the pinion centre? By my calculations (if I'm understanding you properly), these should be 24" (43/2 + 2.5) and 19" (43/2 - 2.5)...

    Centering new rearend ?

Mine is still left-hand drive, so my measurements will match yours! Would be great if someone could confirm the 2.5" offset to passenger side measurement though - I have been searching this forum and the rest of the web for days and have also seen references to a 1 3/8 offset. Thanks for...

    Centering new rearend ?

Hey all, I'm currently building a Ford 9" for my '72 Scamp and am really struggling with how to set the housing up. My wife is using the Scamp as a daily driver, so I can't pull the current 7.25 to check measurements. I'm aware that factory is 43" between spring perches, so that's easy. I...

    Australian V8 Chainsaw

Pretty standard. I've gone down a different path and powered mine with a 200hp, 1441cc Kawasaki inline 4. What on earth do you guys power chainsaws with over there??

    Scamp thread

Hot... Gets me thinking about a scoop for mine. I'd love a satin black Hemi scoop, but we have really strict emissions/"roadworthy"/modification requirements for classic cars in Australia and one thing I love about the Scamp is that it looks neat but doesn't draw attention from the cops due to...

    Scamp thread

Good time for pic whoring! How we found her, getting beat and street raced on by some kids in north LA: She's a factory 318/904/7.25 car. Still has the original engine. No 340, but it does "run out with a lot of extra power" Waiting to go on the boat: Brought it back to Australia...

Are prices way down on classic muscle right now?

I don't understand why people are so fixated on making money (or even breaking even) out of classic car ownership. It's a hobby.. And not a cheap one. You don't hear golfers say "well, i spent $6k on clubs and green fees and hideous shirts last year, but if i hold onto it long enough, that money...

    [SOLD] 70 dodge dart swinger

Hey man, i am really keen to buy both taillights and the brackets that hold them to the back of the bumper (pictured above). Can you let me know if they're still available asap? I am in the USA at the moment and trying to gather parts. Thanks Nick

Fan timer after turn key off? B/C our 440 carb boils over mid summer.

I did this on a stroker smallblock Ford. I had two fans, each with a thermoswitche in the thermostat housing - one that went on at 90, off at 85 and one that went on at 95 and off at 90 (degrees centigrade). The cooler switch was on with ignition and the hotter was hard wired. Only used to run...

How to organize a tool box

Best thing I ever did for keeping my tools organised was getting a smallish plain steel toolbox and buying a set of cheap travelling tools (spanners, sockets, hammer, pliers, vice-grips, screwdrivers, multimeter, wire crimpers, zip ties etc) for loading in the Scamp for trips/working on friend's...

    Can you believe this?

Some of you guys would love the internal turmoil this issues causes me. Obviously, as a pro-gun control left-wing liberal, i take the point that this is public information and that my gun licence shouldn't be any more private than my drivers licence or my dog licence, but as a licenced gun owner...

Dumbest newbie thing, you did at the drag strip.....

A friend of mine did a ridiculously huge burnout in the water trap, all the way out to the 60 foot line. Backed up, feeling 9 feet tall in the cloud of smoke left by his crappy 225 street tyres. Guy in the next lane staged... Five hundred people in the stands say "fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck"... The...
