I did find the QA1 sticker on the coil, and can barely make out a few numbers beside it. Kinda looks like a 9-400.

Here's some pics for the suspension. Definitely looks like an aftermarket spindle also. Also got a part number on the shock, but couldn't find anything on the spring.

Ok, here's what I got. The coilover mounted in the car and at ride height is 10.5 inches(eye to eye) Shock by itself is 13.5 inches extended and 9.5 inches compressed(eye to eye). The coil is 9 inches fully extended.

Just to let you know, pretty much all the plugs changed on the sensors from OBD1 to OBD2, so if that '98 you bought has a complete motor, then you'll have everything you need.

I believe the 360 has the smaller rear main cap and the 318/340 has the larger.

Which LA small block was this pan for? LA 318/340 is different than LA 360 and all the magnums use the LA 360 pan.

It's possible it may depend on the year. I did a 5.9 magnum swap in a '71 Scamp and used the 360 Schumacher mounts and everything was fine. Did a 5.2 magnum swap in a 71 Duster and bought the same mounts, didn't work on Driver's side and has to order a 318 driver's side bracket from Schumacher...

The 5.2(318) magnum is internally balanced, the 5.9(360) is externally balanced. So two possible ideas are: Maybe you have a 5.9 and not a 5.2 Maybe that flywheel came off an LA 360.

Is the orange wire just for lighting up the gear selector? I always thought any orange wires in the interior harness were for lighting.

Yeah, that was the problem. I wonder if that's the same problem with my Scamp now.

It does have a black wire that lines up with an orange wire at the plug, so I should cut the black wire then I guess. On a positive note, it works! I now have power at the brown wire in the crank position! Woohoo!

Well, to make things easier and to actually get to use the new pair of drums I spent $70 on, I ran to my friends wrecking yard today and pulled a rear brake setup off a 4 door '71 Satellite that had an 8 1/4 rear. The parts were free, it's just the 200 mile round trip that kinda sucks! Haha
