When we get to the sweet spot where the wheel is in the neutral position and we turn it one way or the other and let go of the wheel, it wants to turn to full lock all by itself.

I didn't take the big nut off of the input shaft was told not to touch, just replaced all of the "O" rings and seals. Have tried just barely loosening the two bolts on top and sliding it in very small movements with the tap of a small hammer. It doesn't take much to move from right to left.
