What to get Dad for Father's day/ his birthday?

^Shoot, I'd like an electric impact for myself. He has a pretty decent pneumatic one, though. As far as shop tools, he's looking for a nice lift, but that's more money than I have to give.

What to get Dad for Father's day/ his birthday?

It's fairly complete, all I can really think of is manual trans stuff. Maybe some nice heads, but I don't know that he really wants to tear into the motor anytime soon. He'd probably like some 15" Cragar S/S wheels if they had wide tires on 'em.

What to get Dad for Father's day/ his birthday?

That actually sounds really cool, but we're in Northeast MO. Awesome idea!

What to get Dad for Father's day/ his birthday?

^He's not a member on here. He's not much for the internet, haha. Only uses it when he needs to. I should probably also mention that he's not a drinker, so not really any interest in anything alcohol related.

What to get Dad for Father's day/ his birthday?

My dad is a lifelong mopar guy. He had a 69 dart when he was 18, and when I was 18 we got one for me. He now has a 73 340 'Cuda. Father's day is coming up, and he's turning 60 a few days after. Any ideas on what I should get him? I'd love to set him up with a 4 or 5-speed swap for his E body...

    Terrible accident in MO

Man... That's my city. I had heard about it in a facebook group but I'm just now seeing the article. I drive that stretch of road several times every week. Praying for his family.

Hemi Scoop vs. Six Pack, and which one?

^I don't know, but I want to know, haha. I don't think that's something I'll need to worry about for another couple hundred horse. Car's going to be a cruiser. I guess~400hp, with 3.55s and a 4-speed should be plenty of fun. If anything I'll be more worried about a big gust of wind while headed...

Hemi Scoop vs. Six Pack, and which one?

Update: I found one at glasstek that is a little smaller so I guess that's the new frontrunner.

Hemi Scoop vs. Six Pack, and which one?

69 Dodge Dart. I've got an extra hood and it's almost paint time so I'm looking to stick a scoop on one. Right now I'm leaning towards the unlimited products hemi scoop, since it seems to be fairly subdued (only 4.5" in the front and it slopes down to 2" in the rear). The AAR one just looks...

They aren't for the dart, by the way.

Looking for Schaeffler group/FAG bearings supplier

Hey guys, I'm in need of some bearings and it seems like I can't find them this side of the Atlantic (i.e. in the US). Here's what I'm trying to find. 6008-2RSR QTY 5 61915-2RSR QTY 5 FAG seems to be the main producer (that I can find, anyways) but I'm fine with another as long...

    prayers needed

I hope this is some encouragement. Last summer, a friend of mine checked into the hospital because he thought he had bronchitis. It turned out that some virus, or something, was attacking his heart. He had less than a 5% chance of survival more than once. Almost everyone he knew came together...

    Scholarship funding

Ha. It blows my mind how much guys go into debt for boxes. I'm no professional. I see how the tools are worth the extra money, but man, the box? The dude could've bought kobalt or craftsman boxes and a small house, LOL. Is the name-brand box actually that much better?

Is An A Body Worth It?

Dad always tells me never to sell anything. I think it would be really cool to restore the numbers matching block. If the heads can't be made to work, buy a set, but I'd keep the originals. I'd figure out what it will cost to fix the block vs what you can buy a block for vs what you can buy...

Here's a stupid idea: 18" diameter wheels with black lip to simulate 15"!

17" steelies maybe? I couldn't find 18" steelies but those might look pretty tough as well. Are you just wanting a better compound or are you looking to widen things up in the front? 18s should clear your tie rod end, and there are some guys running 275s on the front with those (I was too...

    Filter in Power Steering Return?

Ha! Man, even the Germans do it. One of my good friends at school just bought a BMW (2010 I believe) and the thing had hard plastic sun visors. It wouldn't bother me, but, well, he's the type of person that buys a BMW :D so he had to switch them for the cloth ones that match his headliner...

    Filter in Power Steering Return?

Thanks guys. I picked one up while I was out. I'm cautious with this re-man. Maybe it's the inexperience speaking but I at least expected the finish to be decent. Instead it's already got lots of rust spots from sitting out in the shop for a little over a month. I'm probably just paranoid...

    Filter in Power Steering Return?

Thanks. Do you run the ones like mentioned (seems like it would fit in the return line) or the bigger ones that look like fuel filters?

    Filter in Power Steering Return?

Hey Guys, I'm mid steering box swap right now (installing a re-man factory-style box) and I'm seeing in the instructions that came with the box that I should install a filter in the return line. The thing is, I'm not seeing anything about a filter in either the 69 service manual or a search...

I want my car done but......

Happened to me this morning. Walked out into the shop to immediately be reminded that I live in the rust belt (rust on bolt heads of a brake kit I just got installed at the end of August) as well as some leaks from said brake kit and new lines, which have been a pain to remedy. Luckily my dad...

    Wilwood front brakes issues

I second. I'll make my way out to the shop tomorrow and try to take a look and some pics, but yeah I remember initially putting mine together backwards at first before I read the instructions (which was a pain because I used both loctite and safety wire). You can download instructions for the...

    after market wheels

Fwiw, 18s will fit over your lower ball joints if you want to go really wide up front. I don't think that's the route you're going, but that's why I stepped up. I don't know if I made the right choice or not. As of late I've shifted my ideas from all-out autocross brawler to just actually...

    FSAE Australia

Yeah, we're about middle of the road as far as University support goes, although one of the faculty who used to fight really hard for us recently resigned, so we'll see how things go in the future (I'm a junior). It seems like the Australian teams are getting pushed really hard towards doing...

    FSAE Australia

UCSD! Their paddock was right next to ours at Lincoln (FSAE West) last summer. Really great crew. We've been really fortunate to have a killer business team the last couple years, and we worked with the study abroad dept. at our school to help make this happen. Thanks!

    FSAE Australia

Hey Aussies, This weekend is FSAE Australasia, which is an international competition where students from different universities design, build, and race scaled down F1 cars. We're judged on design, cost, a business presentation, and, of course, speed. On Saturday we compete in acceleration...

Small Block V8 vs. Turbocharged Slant Six

Fellow college student here. I really love the turbo stuff. If I didn't already have a big block getting (slowly) ready to go in mine, I would probably be going that route as well. The big difference here is that I don't daily mine. The small block swap is going to be a lot less troubleshooting...
