    Door hinge question...

I think I understand. Is there any difference between the drivers side and the passenger side upper hinge? One appears to open further than the other. I am having a bear of a time getting these doors lined up. This is definately NOT a one man job. I guess I will have to ask my neighbor for some...

    Door hinge question...

I bought some reconditioned hinges from a gentleman on this website and I fear I may have gotten them mixed up, even though I tried my hardest to not do that. Anyway, does the passenger side upper hinge have a large "P" stamped on it? I was thinking that would mean "PASSENGER" side of the car...

    Another will they fit?

That should fit. I just put 15x7 with 4" back spacing with P255/60/15 on my 68 dart with the small bolt pattern. Only had to trim about 3/8" from the lip. You're fine I think.

    Everything works but the headlights.

Thanks guys, it WAS the dimmer switch. I could kick myself that I didn't think of that. A $6 part after spending aout 6 hours looking for a short circuit....dang!!!

Where can I get power for aux gauges lights?

I am rebuilding a 68 Dart and I added a water temp/oil pressure gauge package. I want the gauge lights to light up when the headlights are on but my fuse block has no "accesory" terminals like other cars have. Can I splice into the parking lamps wire or is there a better/safer way? Thanks... john

    Headlight Switch/Knob Removal

I did this repair this past weekend. The idea above about "the button" is correct. However, the bezel that you have to unscrew in order for the switch to come out can be tricky. On my 68 Dart, there are some knotches around the shaft that I was able to put a fine regular screwdriver into and tap...

    Everything works but the headlights.

Thanks 67DART273, I appreciate it. Like I said before, I put the new switch in over the weekend and it didn't help. The dimmer on the floor sounds like the likely culprit. Thanks... john

    Everything works but the headlights.

Thanks BCSCHIEF. I forgot to mention that I did get a new headlight switch and headlight bulbs. I did not think to check the dimmer switch on the floor. That is a very logical idea. Thanks... john

    Everything works but the headlights.

I have a 68 Dart, slant six, automatic that I am rebuilding. When I look at the wiring under the dash and in the engine compartment, I cannot believe this car is 45 years old. The wiring looks really good. Anyway, I got a new battery, all new bulbs, etc. and everything is working perfectly...

    Wheel Vintiques Problems

Yea, I bet. Those are Centerlines. That wheel is so popular that Summit probably has a whole building just for Centerlines. Mine were steel reproduction wheels.

    68 Dart Hinge Question

I bought some refurbished hinges for my Dart from a gentleman on this website, and they look great, however, I just noticed that the top bolts of the hinge on the body is, apparentenly, only accesible from underneath the dash. Any hints or tricks on doing this chore? Thanks, John

    Headlights and hazard blinkers problem

I have a 68 Dart. I just replaced all the fuses in the fuse block and every light bulb in the car. When I turn on the headlights, all the parking lamps light up fine, but the headlights do not. Also, my blinkers work perfectly, but when I brake, they stop blinking. Also, my hazards do not blink...

    Wheel Vintiques Problems

Some of you may not know that Wheel Vintiques got bought up last year. I ordered a set of SBP Rallye wheels from them eight years ago and they arrived a week early and the quality was second to none. I just took delivery of 2-15X7 and 2-15X6 steel wheels, both SBP, for my 68 Dart project. The...

    1966 Valiant

Like the wheels. Never seen that combo before. There are very few modern wheels that look good on that body, IMHO. I'm building a 68 Dart right now and I'm going with the steel wheels, 15X7 and 15X6 with the body color on the rims. It took Wheel Vintiques 5 frickin' weeks to get those wheels to...

what and how to mount drag seats?

I mounted my seats on universal sliding mounts from Jegs. The seats and the sliders and the seat covers were a package deal so I knew everything would fit together. Once you mount the seat onto the sliders, set the assembly in the drivers position with the slider at the middle setting and just...

Musclecar on spike TV to do Dart!

They built that killer Challenger a few years ago and put a hemi in it. That car was worth about 100k by the time they were done. They also did a Cuda for that guy that owns the UFC. They did a real nice job on that one too. I really like that show and have been a faithful watcher for about 6...

    904 Tranny question

I am restoring a 68 dart with a 170 cu. in. slant six with a 904 tranny. The car runs fine as long as it has tranny fluid however, alot of tranny fluid leaks out. When the car is level and warm and in neutral, I see a drip from the front of the bellhousing and I also see drops hanging from...

    Checking out a hoarder Tuesday!

Hoarder? What an understatement!! That guy had more parts than the state of Florida!! I would grab that LeMans front clip for sure. Pontiac guys are nuts like us Mopar guys. I've been to one of these sales before, lots of junk around, but a few gems worth grabbing. I once found a six pack intake...

Jet Plane Smoke Lines in the Sky

Back in 1999, I saw chemtrails near my work in Alvin, TX. This town is very close to the Johnson Space Center aka NASA. This B-17 was going back and forth in the sky creating parallel lines going east to west over the South Houston area and then it went north to south for another couple of...

    No, I'm not nuts...really!

I am fixing up (not fully restoring) a 68 Dart right now. I ordered the 15x7 and 15x6 steel wheels from wheel vintiques. They told me they will be powder-coated black, which is fine, but I don't want black wheels on my car for a few months while I am doing body work. I intend to paint the car 68...

1970 Plymouth Duster 340 numbers match

Beautiful job. I happen to like the 340 sticker. It's your car man, do whatever you like. Just don't put a Hemi emblem on it. I saw a kid one time put a Hemi emblem on an old beat up Cuda and it had a slant six. The guys at the car show laughed for about 10 minutes...hilarious!!!
