    Outer race loose

I believe the spindle is a bit out of wack on the outer race and is causing the bearing to sit funny and causing them to go bad. Also probably due to using cheap bearings and the combination of the two.

    Outer race loose

9" Drums, Outer race. The outer race in the hub is loose and is causing a clicking noise. I thought it was the bearing but after inspecting it I noticed the race is loose. I cannot pull it out but it does move. Is there a fix for this? New hub? If new hub anyone know where I can get...

Grinding Noise When I Turn Left...Need Help!

You could do what I did and go rent a race puller. I broke it on the first couple tugs and ended up pounding them out with a flat punch. Also rented a race installer that worked amazingly. When using the race installer use one that is a few sizes bigger to get it flush before you pound it in the...

Cant find them anywhere. 1971 dodge demon 225 /6 9 inch drums all the way around. Looking for the dust covers for the front tires. I am not sure what the size is but I know for a fact Auto zone and O'rylies does not carry them. I even bought some cheap ones and they were too big. If...

    wheel bearing stuck need help...

Hooray I am at work. So here is the story. On sunday morning I replaced the bearings on the front wheels. Replaced the races and packed the bearings. Put it all back together. Overtightened the nut and did not back it off. Drove it for 30 miles and stopped at a gas station for a few and...

    wheel bearing stuck need help...

I did pack them full of grease. But after torquing them down really tight and then driving 50 miles it got so hot it liquefied the grease and cooked it off. Then boom they blew out and sent me to the right and I promptly pulled over and called the tow truck.

    wheel bearing stuck need help...

All fixed up new bearings on. Used a hub puller and it pulled it right off very quickly. Thank you all for the advice. Spindle only had a slight groove torn out of it around it and I was able to sort of smooth it over for the bearing to go back on its good for a quick fix for now I think...

    wheel bearing stuck need help...

I use a dremel to cut it then a chisel to split it and knock it off and then I used a grinding wheel on the Dremel to even it out enough to get the bearings on. The passenger side had no bearings whatsoever and was easy to just pull off the driver side on the other hand has most of the bearing...

    wheel bearing stuck need help...

I will try and chip away at the bearing and see if I can't pull some of the bearings out to pull the hub. I am currently stuck in Dixon as that's where the car broke. Thankfully I had all my tools in the car and my girlfriend lives here. The passanger side was slightly fused together and I...

Should I get my car running driving as is OR

HAHAHA!! But seriously you should make it run and drive it while getting parts for it. The more parts you have the the more prepped you are for it the less down time the car will have. You can have the turnaround be about 3-6 months rather then 3-6 years.

    Choke thermostat /RAGE

Was on the car most of the day today. After installing the new gaskets I decided to pull everything and start from scratch. Every hose, fitting, plug, you name it I took it out of the engine compartment and cleaned or replaced it. Pulled the dist. checked the point gap. Used a home made...

    Choke thermostat /RAGE

YES! I'm going to do this after I get the gaskets on. Once I can rule out Vac leak and the issue is still there this is the next step. Although I have slapped a timing light on it lateley and its been fine. Of course this all depends on the rain today haha.
