    stock manifold, gasket matched, flapper removed and cleaned up as far in as i could get with sand paper rolls. 2 1/4" opening on the manifold. same size j-pipe/pishta pipe. 27" of 3" flex pipe for the down pipe.

    i dont remember the mph. i think it was around 70-75. im running a 225. still running the 3 speed, its not as bad as everyone says. may not be as fast to shift as a floor shift setup but its not far off.

    i would turbocharge a slant in a heart beat. went the milled head, cam, headers and hyper pac. wasnt impressed. turbocharged it and still can not believe the power it makes.

    extra water holes? dunno about that. the torque converter bolts are easy to get from underneath when you pull the inspection cover on the tranny.

    the way the advance pod is made it wont let it go back any farther then it already sits at rest. i have no check valve, it sees 25psi of boost. no problems with it so far.

    you can also look at the hei conversion with the 5 or 6 pin module (i cant remember which it is). one of the pins on module pulls 10* of timing out. hook that to a hobbs switch set for 2psi and have at it.

    do some searches on google. back in the day volvo had a vacuum advance/boost retard diaphragm. if you can find one and retrofit it that might be an option. the 6530 is probably the better way to go though. my initial timing is 12*, i limited my mechanical to 6* and have the vacuum advance...

    good luck. there is no such thing as a performance slant clutch. over the counter all you can get is the three finger borg and beck style. they dont hold up to well. if you have a clutch shop near you you can take one to them and have them change the springs and add a few.

    for that little boost i would just dial back the mechanical advance. leave the vacuum advance hooked up for better timing while cruising.

    slant six headers. cant find any marking but they look like the Hooker Super Competition Headers 5602HKR. only ran on the car for a few hours of idling. they are used but solid. the rust in the pics is just surface. like any header i have ever seen they are dented in a little to clear something...

    for fun to drive you only really need to go above 10psi. that is the gate where it goes from this is kinda neat to i can't believe this is a slant. if that is as far as you wanna go you might wanna think about a smaller turbo for faster spool and better efficiency. those hx's like it up around...
