    Hyd or Mechanical Roller?

What, and do a Mods job for them, at my expense? My issue is with allowing members to use Sigs to bad mouth people. Why? Because the only way you can deal with it is to either pollute a thread, or complain to the admin. This is ALL down to letting that Crackhead behave like a...

    Crank vs. rear wheel

I guess this gest tp the point - A-Bomb seems to think that losses through accesories to achieve an SAE rating is only around 5% 2Darts and DGC seem to think its closer to 16% ? (Correct me if I'm reading anyone wrong - I'd hate to attract another "stalker" ! LOL!)

    Hyd or Mechanical Roller?

It's your obsession pal, not mine! Proof = Apologies to the other forum members - but Ive attracted a stalker and he seems to think his actions are those of someone with character and integrity - I was happy to play by the rules - but suddenly no-one cared about the rules anymore - so...

    Crank vs. rear wheel

I kind of get where DGC is coming from - so I'll ask a question..... Are the "gross to SAE " losses of 16% reasonable?

small block heads, 4027596 casting # any good??

    Can't agree with that mate - I had my factory as cast 596s with a 1.88 valve, they flowed to 202 cfm @ .500 @ 28" Porting with a 1.96 took them to 231 @ .550 A 2.02 then took them to 243 @ .550 The porting wasn't a high dollar exercise , basically just paid for X # of hours. - I...

    Crank vs. rear wheel

Completely agree with A-Bomb on this one. I know two things for a fact - 1/ - Ford use 18% drivetrain losses for their new cars fitted with factory built modular V8 OHC engines. A Ford production engineeer told me this. 2/ - A well known builder down here uses a rule of thumb of 120 HP...

    Smallblock intake manifold shootout.

I saw that too - Good article (pity Mopar Muscle don't do the same) I couldn't believe how strong the AG was even with the big cam against the tested SP intakes.

    RPM air Gap problems?

I'd swear there was a thread on FABO a few weeks back, where a guy posted a pic of a mismatched intake gasket and Eddie air gap intake ports - Just can't remember which thread - it was just before the BJR holocaust.....

3to 349 stroker who makes them?

I alread posted the # for the Silvolite MD (see above) There used to be a Sterling (LC371P) as well with the same Comp height, but its been deleted. As you said - the 1278CP is considered a low comp truck/marine piston. There is a Badger available as well, cast and p# 287.

3to 349 stroker who makes them?

My old 349 build - Cast 360 crank cut down in the journals. 360 shot peened rods The guy that built mine used hi comp TRW forged slugs cut down 100th. Comp was good, P-V clearance was pretty bad. :( Doing it again on the cheap, Id use the silvolite 1278CP and fly cut them. I ran...

Try this for a THOUGHT........:thebirdm: Hahahaha!!! ;) But seriously - work with me on this and tell me where Im wrong...... As a GENERALISATION (lets assume factory builds to keep this simple) , .......a 360 will generate greater rotational force though the crank than a 318, simply...

    Street Racing A Nova !

Just a suggestion - its a pretty radical one but it MAY be a good short term fix... If you blow compressed air through your carb line back toward the fuel tank, AND if the problem is the fuel sock - it will blow the sock off the end of the sender if its blocked, I only suggest this...

Thats was going to be my next question - seems there's a few votes in favour...... R/Charger - RE gear drives - any issues with harmonics effecting valve spring life?

    The average 408...

Well...going on the D2000 data - it seems to think a 1000cfm carb and an extra 10 cfm flow at .600 lift would make close to 550 HP, so maybe thats the first "next step" ? Food for thought!!

    390 vs 408

Brian - perhaps my Australian sense of humour gets a bit "lost" intranslation - but I suspect its not lost on Dodgetkboy - I think our little "difference of opinion" has been worked through. My sharks are rotting on his doorstep, and his bear has taken a dump on my path - so we're even...
