welding milodon sump. Mig or Tig?

I have to modify my sump to clear the steering rack and was wondering if welding it with my Mig will be ok or should i get it Tig welded? The plan is to cut a 35mm band form the walls and lift the whole floor of the rear section up then use a section of the offcut to patch the hole. It will end...

    My 6.1 retrofit thread

Avoid the Bouchillon p/s delete pulley, they are way over priced and of average quality. Here`s a pic of mine. straight out of the box with five washers behind the flimsy nylon pulley for packing. Not worth the $280 i paid for it.

    6.1 crate sump

It`s hard to see in the photo but that darker areas are actually fine iron filings just like silver paint. I`m assuming it`s metal particles from the run testing at the factory.(if they do it) Did yours have any residue on the bottom of the sump?

    6.1 crate sump

Removed the factory sump today and was surprised to see this!! I assume the engine has been ran briefly at the factory, but to what extent i don`t know. Is this normal?? Should i be worried??

FAST XFI XIM Harness. must be wrong!!

well i rang FAST and apparently Hemi crate motors have different sensors to the engines fitted to cars and trucks. So i have two options buy new sensors or replace the plugs, new sensors would be easier but costly! I tried to upload some photos but it tells me the file is to large.

FAST XFI XIM Harness. must be wrong!!

Hi, I just got my new 6.1 crate/complete engine package.Thought it would be a good idea to familiarize myself with with the wiring while it`s still on the engine stand. Coils and injector harness ok. XFI and XIM harness can`t be right, only two plugs fit, but the labels don`t correspond , H20...
