fastest way to yank a motor/tranny

Hey guys, I've got some property down south of me that I just sold. I've a 67 Chrysler Imperial Crown Coupe on it that has the original 440/727 combo. It has factory A/C and all the goodies. The motor still cranks and fires & drives but the car is scrap from sitting too long in the weather. Now...

    header opinon

I'm thinking about installing a different set of headers. I'd like to get more tire clearance in my fenderwells. So, these Hooker Super Comps are being pulled and the sheetmetal repaired. Any one ever used the headers from nhoa.biz? Or should I save a little longer and just get the TTIs? Thanks...

    whats better 6a or 6al

I rev to about 7200 with a 6A. The only time I feel it needs a rev limiter is when I let the wife drive -she has a problem with the quarterstick and manual valvebody. :) Greg

    traction bars wanted

IMHO, the pinion snubber works better on mopars. As the axle tries to wrap, it pushes the pinion snubber against the floor. This not only causes the rear to rise a bit, but also "pushes the tires down harder". If that makes any sense. That is why the short front section of spring and long rear...

    traction bars wanted

It's my understanding too that the traction bars on Mopars aren't needed. Something to do with the axle sitting further forward on the springs -which prevents the axle wrap. On GM cars (as far as I know) the axle is sitting in the center of the spring and needs traction bars (slappers) to...

    Dwell meter?

Gotta get those points set, huh? You can get a dwell meter on ebay for cheap. I think snap-on still makes one. Greg

    Cayman S not so fast

Yeah, I had one of those pull next to me one day. He couldn't here my lope over him revving his engine. He lost his smile when I staged at 3500 and left him in a cloud of smoke. We may take those fancy cars in the straights, but the first big turn will make us look stupid. Greg

    Laptops/notebooks

Check around your town for discount electronic places. They usually have 2-3 year old notebooks in decent shape/quality for cheap. Here in Austin,TX we have a place called Mr. Notebook and all they do is refurbish/repair/sell used notebooks. Usually starting at $150. Greg

need some front end rebuild tips

I made my own tool with angle steel and large vise grips. Used the vise grips to clamp the angle steel around the torsion bar and hammered on the vise grips. They came loose after about 10 smacks. No damage on the bars. Greg

    duster front hight

I dropped my 72 by backing off the torsion bars. I installed bigger bars first. Afterwhich, you'll need a front end alignment to reset your camber. Greg

why are dodge transmissions labeled as crap(no offence)

I sold my 87 Ramcharger a few years ago. 460K miles on the original 318, 727 & 9-1/4. The guy who bought it is a buddy and still drives it. That 727 never had a problem. Just flushed the fluids every 100k. Greg

    pissed at pinks!!!!

I like the show. I think it's a little funny that people cry over losing a mustang or camaro. Maybe Mopar people are too smart to dump theirs cars like that? Pinks "All Out" was interesting, there was a guy with an early a-body that did well. Greg

5 point harness in a car w/o roll cage...How to do it?

I would fight that ticket. My understanding of the laws here in TX is that if it didn't come from the factory with a shoulder harness, it's not required. My 72 duster has the shoulder harnesses but I usually keep them folded up by the headliner. Yeah, I know, really dumb... Greg
