[Found!] 40-Tooth Long Shaft Speedometer Gear

For 1972 904 transmission. I think it's the orange one, but as long as it has 40 teeth, I don't care what color it is. Thanks!

Remove and install new transmission 904 auto

So removing the center link is not usually necessary? My 72 Duster with 360 and headers has about a half-inch gap between the top of the center link and the oil pan, so I can't tilt the engine very far. But it doesn't look like the engine has to tilt much to get the inch or two of backward trans...

'73 Disc conversion, but keep 4" bolt pattern

You're correct, the drum is swaged to the hub with the wheel studs. To install the Scarebird kit, you cut or grind off the wheel studs, knock the drum off, then press the old stud remnants out of the hub. Press in new studs, and you're good to go. You also have to drill the rotors for SBP, and...

360 motor in 1972 Dodge Demon vibrating

Is it an automatic? Like MoparMan1806 said, the torque converter is different for a 360, too. It has a large balance weight welded on. You can use a regular 904/727 torque converter, but only if you buy a weight and weld it on. Or, you can buy a special flex plate from B&M that looks like a...

904 vs 727 Cooling Line Fittings

I recently decided to go with a braided stainless AN cooling line set from an eBay supplier. I could not locate a set specific for a 904, so I ordered the 727 kit, figuring it did not make a difference. The kit came with adapters for the trans and the radiator. There were two fittings with 1/8"...

904 Braided Hose Cooling Line Routing

Car is a 72 Duster with a 360 motor, a 904 trans, manual steering, mini-starter, B&M Quickslver shift cable coming in from the front, and Lokar kickdown linkage coming in from the rear of the trans, and Hooker Competition headers. After some struggles with trying to route stock hard lines around...

    DIY paint booth fan question

I should have elaborated...I wasn't advocating only using a respirator. I also wore a full hooded paint suit, gloves and goggles, in addition to a really good organic vapor cartridge respirator. I also wore shoes, socks, and underwear, before anybody goes off about the dangers of painting...

    DIY paint booth fan question

Maybe I'm crazy, but I've painted three cars in a garage "paint booth" made of blue tarps. With a good respirator, I didn't feel the need for any fan to be pumping dust through the paint area...especially a big monster like that. I kept the respirator on at all times, kept things as still as I...

    Rooster Comb Swap

Exactly; thanks! And just to ask what may be an obvious question: After I put the 72 comb onto the 67 VB, can I put the modified VB into the 67 trans, install a 3-post switch, and have neutral safety and back-up lights at the trans?

[SOLD] Slant 6 with Super Six Setup $350

Available for pick-up in Spring Hill FL (near Tampa). Nice running early (1965, if I recall) Slant Six 225 with complete Super Six setup and Clifford aluminum valve cover. I built this engine 4 years ago for my son's Duster, and he has put 30k on it since. Strong and reliable with no issues...

    Rooster Comb Swap

I have a 1967 904 trans with a good valve body, but it has the old single-prong neutral safety switch. I have a 1972 trans with a bad valve body, but it has the right rooster comb for a three-prong neutral safety switch. Can I swap the 72 comb onto the 67 valve body?

[WANTED] 904 Transmision Valve Body (non-lockup)

Nothing fancy; stock is fine. But it needs to have the later shift lever with the cam for a three-post neutral safety/reverse light switch. Many thanks!
