1966 Barracuda Trunk Hinge and pin

Thanks for the info! AMS Obsolete has a NOS hinge for 195.00. Layson's has a reproduction hinge for 75.00. Are the reproduction hinges from Layson's recommended?

1966 Barracuda Trunk Hinge and pin

Hello. Does anyone have or know where I can locate a driver side trunk hinge for a '66 Barracuda. I just need one side. The pin on mine rotted off this morning. I'd like to buy the hinge with the pin already installed but if I can only find the pin then I'd take it. Looks like it's gonna be a...

Rear ride height without air shocks.

They must be. I appreciate the help.

Rear ride height without air shocks.

Looks like the problem I'm having with the air shocks comes from the driver side hose getting to close to the exhaust pipe. The pipe burnt a small hole into the hose. The shocks are a pair of Gabriel HiJackers part number 729706. Does anyone know of a place to get a replacement hose? I'm digging...

Rear ride height without air shocks.

I'm torn over what to do. It looks nice at stock level but I also like the raised rear end look too. The easiest option would be to just fix the air shocks. But I think I would be happier with standard shocks and have the leaf springs adjusted to give the rear a boost. If I put standard shocks...

Rear ride height without air shocks.

Can anyone recommend a good pair of air shocks if I decide to go that route?

Rear ride height without air shocks.

I may have to do that for the time being. Espo has a 4 to 6 week wait before they can ship the springs out if I get them.

Rear ride height without air shocks.

My springs seem to still be good. They have a nice arch to them.

Rear ride height without air shocks.

My '66 Barracuda has had air shocks lifting the rear since I bought her. I've never been a big fan of air shocks but the car was running fine so I didn't worry too much about them. Yesterday I noticed the car was sitting at about stock level ride height. I tried to put some air in the shocks but...

    Trouble starting '72 Valiant

I took the advice of putting some fuel directly into the carb and she started right up! I gotta make sure I don't let her sit to long without any activity again. Thanks everyone!

    Trouble starting '72 Valiant

Hello. I've got a '72 Valiant with a 318 that I can't get to start. The car doesn't get driven much these days. For the past few months it's gotten to where it takes a long time to finally start up. Once it gets started it's fine. I can turn it back on and off with no problem after the initial...

    '72 Valiant has no power

I spliced the two wires together and put the dash back together. She cranked right up! I've driven her around the block and down the interstate a ways. Everything that was working before seems to still be working now (except for the ammeter of course). Thanks for all the advice. It's been very...

    '72 Valiant has no power

Ok, I'll attempt to splice the two wires together. I just hope I'm not getting in over my head. I'm not real experienced with wiring and electrical work. The terminal that the red wire was connected to is really loose. I'm guessing my problem started there. I'm gonna go inspect the harness and...

    '72 Valiant has no power

I've finally been able to find time to work on her. I took the dash partially out and here's a pic of what happened. That "Mad Mod" looks really interesting but I'm gonna have to find time to do that later down the road. I'm hoping to just clean this mess up and reconnect everything. Hopefully...

    '72 Valiant has no power

I reached up under the dash to wiggle the ammeter wires to find that they were both charred! I'm not sure if it's the positive or the negative but the inner wire has burned completely off the terminal.

    '72 Valiant has no power

I'll look at it again and try the things suggested as soon as I'm able. The lights indeed do not turn on. When I turn the key there is no sound whatsoever - nothing seems to work. The light on my voltage tester lights up if it touches the battery, both sides of fusible link light up as well, but...

    '72 Valiant has no power

Still no luck so far. I replaced the voltage regulator and that didn't fix it. I had the battery checked out and it seems fine. I then used a test lamp on both sides of the fusible link and it seems good too. I have a wiring diagram saved somewhere. I've never used a VOM meter before. Any...

    '72 Valiant has no power

Hello everyone, hopefully someone can help me get my trusty '72 Valiant running again. I went to crank her up a couple nights ago and noticed the dash lights and outside lights seemed brighter than usual. When I put her in reverse the lights got noticeably dimmer. Right then the car just cut...

    Fuel and Temp gauge

I was testing the rest of my fuses with a test light today. The last fuse labeled Instruments doesn't seem to be getting any power. The test light didn't light up when connected to either side of the fuse. I replaced the fuse and got the same result. Does this fuse control the gauges or the...

    Fuel and Temp gauge

These two gauges are driving me nuts! For about 10 years the temp and fuel gauge on my '72 Valiant have not worked. I'm not a skilled mechanic by any means but I've attempted to fix them every now and again with advice from people on this forum and people I know. I've replaced the gauges...

    Power steering pump cap

Here's a pic of what my cap looked like. It isn't an actual image of mine I just found this on the web. Thanks for all the suggestions. I had no luck at a local junk yard. I've just e-mailed Restoration Suppliers of CT on Ebay. There's a '72 Valiant sitting in someones front yard in...

    Power steering pump cap

Mine has a round neck and the cap didn't have a dipstick attached. It was just a metal cap with the word "Vented" wrote across the top.

    Power steering pump cap

I'm pretty sure it's a Federal Pump (the cap had "ears" on each side). Seems like it'd be a pretty simple piece to locate but I'm not having much luck. I may try a junkyard tomorrow.

Low Beams and Highbeams both went out

What are you talking about? I've worked 24 hours in the past two days. I've made my situation very clear in my post. I have tomorrow off and I will be able to get a good look at it then.

Low Beams and Highbeams both went out

Well, I tried to replace the dimmer switch before work this morning but stupid Autozone has the wrong switch listed as belonging to the '72 Valiant. I'm gonna track down the correct one tomorrow once I wake up. After having spent the day thinking about it I remember having a strange power...
