    Do I need a choke?

I ran a 700 double pumper with no choke on the 340 in my '65 Barracuda for about 40 years. Starting procedure was to simultaneously turn the key while giving the throttle a few pumps, thus effectively using the accelerator pumps to richen the mixture in the absence of a choke. Your air gap...

[WANTED] 65 valiant barracuda heater assembly

Did you ever find what you were looking for? I have the complete box, fan, and heating coil from my '65 Barracuda if you need it. It's in good shape except for the missing part of the cardboard backing plate.

    Carb. Mechanical or vacuum secondaries?

I ran a 700 double pumper on my 340 with both 4-speed and auto--first in my '66 Valiant with 4-speed for several years, then 37 years in my '65 Barracuda with 727. Both cars had 4.30 gears; the 727 had only a shift kit, with stock converter. The 340 had purple shaft cam, Edelbrock LD340, and...

    What’s the attraction?

I never thought I would own a first-gen either. My high school hot rod in 1972 was a '66 Valiant with a 340 and 4-speed. I had always been a Chevy guy, but I wasn't going to go through my senior year in high school without having a hot rod, and I did what I could afford on a paper route and...

Hell yes X 2! I want to see some more on the Valiant also! Fantastic build, just like your notchback!

67 Cuda Notchback Hell Cat Swap

Sorry, I just saw your question; either I didn't get a notification or (more likely) I missed it. I was already doing a full frame with a roll cage, so we just made the frame rail spacing the same as that for an early Mustang so the Alumaframe system would fit. I suppose the stock front...

    vent warning: hot rodded regrets

It's mine, but it wasn't at the MCACN. This picture was at SEMA 2019, and it wasn't finished then.

    vent warning: hot rodded regrets

There wasn't much point in saving any original parts; none of them would fit anywhere now.

Appearances are subjective; I'm not offended if anyone thinks mine is ugly.

1965 MMP's Barracuda Hemi swap! The Ever Changing Build

You will be happy with Detroit Muscle products. I used them for everything on my '65.

    64 Valiant 440 build

Thank you! I wish I could take credit for it, but it's way beyond my talent level. Hot Rod Chassis and Cycle built it; I just wrote the checks.

    64 Valiant 440 build

Yep, after 40+ years of fenderwell headers limiting turning radius and ride height options, mine is finally down where it needs to be; wheel openings raised one inch and flared to allow further drop. Opening up the rear wheel openings helped also.

    Pics of early Barracudas

I am in Mississippi; unfortunately, the car is stuck in quarantine at the shop, Hot Rod Chassis and Cycle in Chicago. It was not completely finished when it went to SEMA in November, and still needs to go back to the upholstery shop and paint shop for some final details. Neither of those shops...

    Pics of early Barracudas

Yeah, I looked at everything out there, and saw various disadvantages (or what I perceived as disadvantages) in all of them. I know a few people who have the Street Lynx setup and are pleased with it; that probably would have been my choice if I had not elected to go the IRS route. I had no...

I'm still getting used to this after 40+ years of looking at a 340.

I never liked the appearance of the stock dash, so we started over. Ironically, this will be the first vehicle I have owned with a back-up camera.
