    2 Barrel talk

i put a 318 2 bbl on a slant before chrysler did. needs NO spical adjustments. take the stock 1 bbl manifold. grind the raised pad flush. make a 2 bbi plate 1/4 thick. with holes in the coners that are countersunk for a countersunk screw that threads into the stock manifold. and...

if i remember right the 318 for most of its life was NOT a "HP" engine from chrysler. thats why they had the "HP" 273, and 340. but the later years i not sure. if i remember right.

    Edelbrock mid throttle problem

after reading your post again about 2 step and 3 step rods. 65Val i did remember that chrysler did have some AFBs with 2 step rods. i think around early 60s maybe on 413s. i sure you all know to NOT mix any parts from a 2 step with a 3 step set up rods.

    carter bbs float adjustment

my 1967 dart, charger factory service manual. shows the BBS carb float level to be 1/4 inch. except the taxi to be 9/32. and the 2 bbl BBD to be 1/4 inch. i have had and worked on the BBD a lot and never found it needed to set it any different.

    Type of breaker points

dont use , graphite, or anti-seize compound. cause if it gets on the points it conducts electricity. and cause it to have ruff running.

    Edelbrock carb help

my Carter factory books say that the spring on acc pump is tuned. so that under mid peddle pressure it gives the most amount of fuel. and under hard pressure not as much. cause under hard pressure the vacuum jumps fast enough so not as much fuel is needed. but all is this based, IMHO, on...

    Idle issue on my 440...

have done a LOT of carb work on AFBs i think Carter says that the shaft should have NO more than .004-.005" clearance. i would put bronze oil-lite bushings in them.. if you dont know how DONT try it. the main tricks are seating the throttle plates. which if not done right will make...

    Transmission cooler

IMHO. check for space in front of the rad. a good kit should have high pressure hose. and be careful of the hose rubbing sheet metal. i would take some old rad hose split it and cover the cooler hose for extra protection. . and if you can use two clamps on the hose. then double...

    Edelbrock mid throttle problem

IMHO. if the engine is close to how chrysler made that engine. tune the carb close to the same jetting and springs that chrysler did. i have found that the eddy carbs are jetted completely diff than chrysler did. and the way chrysler did them is about as good as you can get.
