[WANTED] Rear Bumper for 1966 Valiant

No worries, thanks for checking. That picture is a second V100 I found in the Nevada desert. Looks mint but the floor pans were gone, like most all V100s with full rubber cover over jute. I made the mistake selling it whole when now I'm spending more to get all the good parts it had. The...

[WANTED] Rear Bumper for 1966 Valiant

I need a rear bumper for my Valiant project. Straight and clean enough to not need rechroming.

    1966 barracuda rear end

8.25 A-body axles that were common from 1973-1976 are a great low buck swap into earlier A-bodies that don't have the 8.75 upgraded rear. You gain the more desirable 5x4.5 bolt pattern in the bargain. Unfortunately a Sure Grip is not a common find and upgrading to an LSD is expensive...

Swapping 340 into 64 valiant. Center drag link hitting oil pan

Swapping 340 into 64 valiant. Center drag link hitting oil pan

Great info and experience showing up. Thanks @mopowers for the comparison pic as that says it all. I can add that I've had very good luck with Kevko aftermarket oilpans. Not only do they have the clearance dimples but can be optioned with various effective internal baffling. I can see...

@AJ are you speaking of your 68 S or a 66-earlier? Not the same... Clearances are much different 67-later

Swapping 340 into 64 valiant. Center drag link hitting oil pan

The oil pan also needs to be the dimpled version for the A-body pitman/idler. Not all small block oil pans are clearanced. I can't be specific but from memory that was especially true of some of the aftermarket stampings. It's also a factor that the 273/318/340 pans are different than the 360...

2 types of Doug headers for early 64 to 66 Valiants ??

In the early 70s I acquired a 1965 Barracuda that had been an SCCA A-Sedan racer since new and had a history in the overlaid "Pro" Trans Am series. Of a few exotic components and mods it had a set of full length under-chassis headers made by Doug Thorley. The company has gone through...

[SOLD] 1966 Plymouth Valiant V100 Wagon

I flew to Jacksonville FL and drove this wagon home to Colorado. I built the engine with Super Six 2bbl manifolds and significant internal mods. I see it's been lowered, anything else since I had it? I've owned dozens of Valiants and this was one of the most original survivors I ever found...

    [SOLD] 1966 Valiant V100 2dr

Some of my more valuable parts have sold quickly, locally and via FABO. I'm motivated to find a new home for the Valiant so I can move on. It's got to be pointed out that this is an extraordinarily well preserved southwest desert car in a way that many may not comprehend. My personal...

[SOLD] Indy 360-1 Heads, Top End Kit

Indy 360-1 rectangular port heads with intake, new Hughes rocker kit, ARP studs, Moroso covers, and Mopar Performance 3/16 pushrods, cut to fit. I was planning my ultimate 66 Valiant (see Mopars for Sale) and realize I'm getting older fast. I bought all this from a local racer. He had the...

    [SOLD] 1966 Valiant V100 2dr

I found this V100 five years ago in Kingman AZ after searching a long time. They are very difficult to find with original solid floors as 66 V100s all had the rubber floor over jute that rots the pans out from the inside. The floor pan does have some surface rust but is not punky or...

    Low Profile Single Plane Intakes

Decision made. I added in the cost variable and concluded I'll use KB quench pistons for a 360 at 10.5 compression with my 308 heads and run a Holley Street Dominator that I have. It matters too that the lowest cost suppliers all seem to be out of stock for their 4" stroker kits. I also have...

    Low Profile Single Plane Intakes

Wow, lot's of experience coming through! I appreciate all the thoughts and advice. I'm wondering now if the Dual Port on my shelf might be interesting in combo with the 308 heads on a 4" crank. I suspect it won't want to rev high but the throttle response and torque might be crazy. In the...

    Low Profile Single Plane Intakes

The Torker II has caught my eye already, and no doubt the runner profiles are similar to the factory intake. My bias is definitely towards the 408/Indy option. For sure, the expected 400+ HP outcome in a light Valiant is fun to ponder. I've run some really hot A-bodies but am now in the mind...

    Low Profile Single Plane Intakes

So here's probably an uncommon request. I'm looking for legit experience with low profile single plane intakes on hot smallblocks. Why? I'm playing with the concept of how far I can push "273 Commando at a glance" subterfuge. I'm not a racer anymore but want to pop the hood of my 66 Valiant...

[WANTED] 1966 Valiant V200 Trunk Trim

I've been looking for a while, time to update my search. 1966 Valiant V200s have a stainless strip across the bottom of the trunk lid. I'm looking for this piece in straight undented condition. The 66 V200 is the only application for this trim as far as I know. Picture shows an example on a...

[SOLD] 1966 Dart GT Charger Convertible

Thanks, I'm well aware. I would label my 66 Valiant as 1966 Valiant V100 Commando, I think it's pretty consistent that engine designation is part of a vehicle description? 1966 Plymouth Belvedere Hemi? 1968 Chrysler 300 TNT? "Charger" in the 273/4bbl context equates to "Commando" and...

1966 Dart 270 2dr Post (Not Mine) CL Denver $6500

I responded to this CraigsList posting in Denver, established first position and have spoken extensively with the seller. I'm 350 miles away and for various reasons am taking a pass. It is however a find as an original unrestored CA example. Quite remarkable. 1966 Dodge Dart Two Door...

    Three-on-the-Tree with 273 4/bbl?

Ugh, I overlooked the various case dimension considerations. And of course the factory 4spds indeed routed the rods inside the floorpan stamping with the necessary tunnel-hump. This is getting more complicated than I first imagined. The light and slick Tremec TKO is of course the no-brainer...

    Three-on-the-Tree with 273 4/bbl?

Thanks all for this latest round of stories and comments. @AJ/FormS in particular for the impressive number crunching! While eight-on-the-tree using the GV is a true count and sounds impressive, I have no intention of working through the gears with sequential fine splits. I'm imagining first...
