I had very similar symptoms to this on my 318. I found that I had neglected to fit the spacer plate between the carb and manifold and I was getting a vacuum leak between the two. Looking at your video it is hard to see if you have the plate installed and I think if you are running an edelbrock...
G’day @Hyper_pak just stumbled across this thread. Is this what you are after? I purchased it a couple years ago but didn’t end up using it. Happy to send it your way for the cost of postage.

G’day all,
My brother has just acquired a 69 Barracuda, it’s in excellent condition with no rust, almost perfect interior, drivetrain seems great as well.
Is there anywhere I can download a workshop manual?
Cheers

It’s all good while everything goes to plan! I think your clearance will be fine as long as everything hooks up well but if it all gets out of shape and those big *** tyres start to wobble then you risk tearing up you nice clean panels and shiny paint.
I’d be taking the advice and adding...
Thanks for you help with this one folks, just thought I’d close the loop.
I ended up with 40 thou plus the gasket thickness (and a skim off the base of the manifold) and it all fits perfectly. I’ve had it out on the weekend for a 200km run with no issues at all - well except for a pinhole leak...
Thank you gentlemen for your replies. I have no gaskets fitted in the picture so I’ll have to measure the centres and go from there.
...or could the machine shop use the original manifold for reference?
Cheers

G’day everyone,
I am swapping my old 318 manifold over for a new Edelbrock Performer.
When I try and fit the new manifold the bolt holes on the manifold don’t line up with the ones on the heads (about a third of the hole out). I am guessing I need to machine the new manifold but how do I know...
Hey Abody, just looking at a good solid rebuild for a 318. Regularly driven street car and I want good bottom to mid range performance. I am pretty good mechanically and have rebuilt a few engines in the past but never an LA.

G’day all
Pentastar Parts here in Aus make a set, can choose 1.5 or 1.6 ratio ($1350 Aus). I have not used them myself but I have purschased from PP&R often and have never had any problems with their quality.

I got into Mopars because my Dad purchased one in about 1972. He got a 1969 VF Valaint coupe (Australian obviously), nothing too dramatic in itself. The resaon he got it was because I managed to open the back door of the Holden station wagon they owned at the time (I was 4) and my mum just...
I had the kickdown kit and got the brcket for it in my last Mopar, if I get the kickdown kit again I think I will make my own bracket. i found the Lokar one kept moving around and I just couldn’t get it to,work properly

G’day everyone,
I am in the middle of installing a Gen-IV unit in my Valiant and am also upgrading the original alternator with a high output Tuff Stuff one at the same time (the three wire, external regulated one). So onto the question - The Vintage Air instructions say to make sure there is...
There are some fan controllers that use a single temp sensor to control two fans. Once the engine hits the set temp it switches the first fan on and then after a delay (10 seconds I think) will switch on the second thus minimising the current load. Davies Craig markets a couple over here in OZ...
G’day all,
I am looking at A/C brackets for an LA block and the Vintage air site has two to choose from, “early to 1969” and “1970 to 1978”. Can anyone tell me the difference between the two?
I know over here in OZ early LA blocks have the short nose cast iron water pump and later ones have...
