i just rebuilt the front end on a ‘71 demon .... it’s Alignment time! Have no idea where I should take it and want to be sure it’s done correctly.
Thoughts???
I bought the stamped steel uppers:
Classic Performance Products complete front power disc brake conversion kit for 1963-1974 Mopar A/B/E models. Use with a minimum wheel size of 15 inch
Everything needed to add front power disc brakes to your "A" "B" or "E" body Mopar. Includes: spindles...
Oh crap. Yeah NO way a 14" rim will fit. I may be selling these rims to you ;)
It's 7.25 from center of spindle to Caliper.... so 14.5 in right there. and going deep with the rim is NOT going to help. I may call him tomorrow and order 4.5 If I still can.
OK ordered custom 15x7 with 4.75 BS.... just an FYI - ordered them RAW Steel and they get here in a 3 days. If I ordered painted/coated it was going to be 4-6 weeks.
Do I need to powder coat these? What would be considered acceptable, they just need to be black ;)
shes a sexy beast!
Thank you - really helps instill a little more confidence. I'll order the custom BS 4.75 as you wish you had done... should tuck in a little further. I still worry about the caliper fitting and deeper will not help...hmmm 4.5 works....4.75 may solve one prob and create...
abodyjoe - you suggest I go with 4 3/4 BS? Damn. I can't find anything but 4 and 4.25 BS on any of the websites.
1971 Demon (BBP disk front and 7.25 SBP rear)
I'm looking at tires:
225 60 front
275 60 rear
Thinking wheels should be:
15x7 BBP front with your suggested 4 3/4BS (custom order...
Measured center of spindle to outside of caliper at 7.25-7.5in (Grease nipple puts it at 7.5 so depending on how deep they go into the rim it's going to be tight.
Screw it. I guess if no one local has a 15in OE steelie I'll just buy a set I guess.
Thank you for looking/responding!
Hoping someone can help me out:
Bought the yearone disc brake conversion and after measuring the center of the spindle to the outside of the caliper concerned it will not fit the OE style steel wheels from wheel vintiques I have on order. There is no template so no way to know for sure what...
Thats a healthy alternative! BTW your Tire wheel combo on your Demon is truly perfect. I'd like to replicate this.... can you help me with what the BS on your 15x7 Rallyes are?? (apologies for stalking you!)
Wheel and tire combo on a 72 Duster
OK What rim size & BS do you have on the rear of that Duster?? I am in the process of going to 15in rims..... need to sort size and of course a place to buy. Love the deep dish look of your dusters rear tire!
If you are asking me.... no, I'm running 7.25 SBP in the rear. I'm slowly getting to the rear end. (literally in the middle of upgrading to BBP disk upfront this week - BBP posi/sure grip rear end is on the horizon though)
SO are you saying a 15x10 rim wit 5.5 BS and a tire that is 28x10.5 wide will fit in an unmodified Demon? Damn y ou for making me get under my car to measure! lol
Never MInd I see from the Drop down it includes; Dist, Coil, and ECU. And I think one plug wire for the coil, or all the wires included? (apologies for the 20 questions)
At least I understand how it is wired :)
Hi, I too see you may be the person to ask about updating a distributor for a small block. I was given an Large Cap HEI that likely won't fit - any ideas/suggestions? LIked the simplicity of the large cap but looks like I am small cap and ext coil bound. I'm ready to get the right parts - look...
Good price - if you don't sell them by New Years can I come up to SC and check them out?
Specifically curious re: fit - if the fit is there (no to minimal rubbing) I will buy them.
In your craigslist ad you have two pics of the same two tires?
Does the pic of the car show the rear rims? Looks like the rears Have a different offset, can you tell me what the offset is?
