This thing has to go this time folks. I need to wrap up my divorce and pay my lawyer.... It is a 170 CI slant six. I started getting ready to pull the engine, so everything is disconnected. It does run, and can be put back together and used as a driver if you want. Some rust, not...

    Stainless Steel Valve question

I was told by a machine shop that if I used a stainless exhaust valve that I did not need to have hardened seats installed for unleaded gas. He told me that the hardened seats only needed to be installed if I was running a stock steel valve. Is this correct? It kinda makes sense to me.

I just picked up a running 77 440 out of a motorhome. Gonna drop it in my Valiant in more-or-less stock form just to get my car on the road and have something to play with. Does anyone have any info on the engine specs for this engine? Did they have any extra performance goodies in them...

Need some info - "318-3" engine

Yeah, I'm going to the shop tonight to get it up on the stand..I'll have the numbers later tonight. I thought that many of the 318's were forged, but according to the Mopar Engine book, only the 67's were forged...But then again, it says the 318-3 truck engines had forged AND hardened cranks...

Need some info - "318-3" engine

ok, from what I've read, the early truck 318 engines designated "318-3" on the block casting had a forged, hardened crankshaft... I just picked up a 318 that is supposedly the original engine out of a 73 Cuda. This block is also showing the "318-3" casting number on the side. Any one have...
