Heading south 404 to 401 lots of braking and "pos" following too close, in right lane to me. Driver swerved to the left and tagged a suv on passenger side bumper. This turned him 90 deg into my lane. I had no place to go. OPP charged driver with careless. Thank God no one was hurt.

    Link bar to block clearance

I Great tip! Mocking up with heads on, and pushrods in. The link bar buttons lose some clearance at full lift. Back to a bit more clearance grinding.

    Link bar to block clearance

Hello All, Just wondering what minimum clearance is required between link bar ,button and pin to block would be acceptable? I'm using Comp 828-16 lifters in my 318 roller block. After grinding I can get a .015" feeler gauge all around and under the pin to block. I'm concerned about growth when...

Lifter plunger in the 59 deg toilet

I have small scuff on the cylinder side of the top and a small scuff on the bottom cam side. This I would expect due to lifter angle. I have not measured. I’ll check that tonight.

Lifter plunger in the 59 deg toilet

More street than strip. My 318 with the solid 528 Flat tappet, 3.91,3200 stall 904 28” tire ran 13.0 Last year. I was hopping for 12’s this year with the hydraulic roller. The spring pressure is 340lbs at 1.188 and close to 110 closed .

Lifter plunger in the 59 deg toilet

Thank you for the information. A lot of people never look for the problem that takes out parts. I read a lot about "it died and they sent me a new one". In my line of work (boilers and furnaces) most manufactures don't care about their products when it comes to operational defects or parts...

Lifter plunger in the 59 deg toilet

I had all pushrod holes opens up (eddy 60779). This cam was new this season. Had springs changed to meet cam card. I put about 600 miles on assembly. The lifters were sometimes a bit noisy after car sat for a week or so. All in all it worked great. I really need to watch the tach once I’m back...

Lifter plunger in the 59 deg toilet

I was setting preload to .045" . The marks on lifter were about .070". I'll take apart another pair of good lifters once i get my new set. Just wondering if the push rod plunger rotates?

Lifter plunger in the 59 deg toilet

Hello everyone. Autopsy done on collapsed ( crane hydraulic roller) lifters. 3 that collapsed had markings inside lifter body ( see pics). Pushrod cup didn’t want to come out. After I got them out , I found the marks on the inner bore of the lifters on the cylinder side only not any marks on...

    No service hydraulic lifter

Who has these rivets? They are hard as hell. I used a grinder to remove rivet and washer. Then a punch to get remainder out. Do any oem use link bars?

    No service hydraulic lifter

I was a dumb ***. I went from a solid flat tappet to the hydraulic roller over last winter. All parts are Crane. I forgot to lower MSD box from 7700 rpm to 6500. I figure **** came apart at 7200 rpm. I'm now going to stick a " $ " sticker to my right foot. :(:BangHead:

    No service hydraulic lifter

How are hydraulic rollers ( retro link bar) supposed to be serviced with rivet in the way of the parts coming out? Had three collapse yesterday . I found three lifters with bent “C” clips. The only way into lifter is to remove rivet. Ya ya I know. Hydraulic lifter bad, but they are in my...

68 Dart GT Belt trim question

Thanks for the reply. Its so hard to tell if they were polished or satin from the factory. Before I go and start wet sanding and polishing I thought I'd ask. There are so few GT's in my area to see. I know the grill and trunk panel are satin. Guess I will keep checking pics on line.

    Cam intake closing importance

60 ft is soggy. 1.88-1.90 . If I can create more pumping compression at a lower rpm then the 105 would be my 12.50 ( more torque). I know small engines don’t make big torque but I do like the challenge of small displacement . The car is street driven , I’m not sure on the higher stall. Leaving...
