    Clutch Problems

Hey guys, I have an 85 dodge d100 (yeah, not an abody, sorry). Its a 225 with a 833OD. The other day i went to start it and noticed the clutch pedal felt like it had little resistance. When i went to start it it bucked on me like the clutch was still engaged. I went to take it out of gear...

    Engine trouble- Plummeting oil pressure

Dang, I am glad nothing blew up! UPDATE 2: I replaced the fuel pump. The old one had some visible cracks on the diaphragm but they didn't look like they went all the way through. I also pulled the top off the carb and checked the needle and seats. Checked the floats too, they seemed fine...

    Engine trouble- Plummeting oil pressure

It was slightly over, but it didn't look too overfilled.

    Engine trouble- Plummeting oil pressure

UPDATE 1: So I drained the oil and pulled the valve covers. Nothing weird under the valve covers. The oil did seem less viscous then it should but I'm no expert so I'm not really sure. The thing that did surprise me is that the oil smells like gasoline pretty bad. That leads me to think valve...

    Engine trouble- Plummeting oil pressure

I changed the oil at the beginning of last summer, made a couple of trips and it was all fine.

Great, this gives me a few things to look for first. Thanks! I'll keep you all posted and let you know what I find out.

    Engine trouble- Plummeting oil pressure

It was an existing good engine. Gave me no problems last summer and I've had it out a couple times this summer and it ran fine. Hadn't seen any indications of an issue until today.

    Engine trouble- Plummeting oil pressure

So I took my demon out today to pick up my kid. I had just pulled up to the garage to park it when I noticed it was idling really low, about 500rpm or so almost stalling out. The engine was making some not good noises and the oil pressure had dropped to almost zero. I pulled in and parked it...

Ubolts too big for my shock plates

Yeah, I really boned this whole post. I'm going to go crawl under my car and wait for this whole embarrassing thing to blow over :(

Ubolts too big for my shock plates

I just got these ubolts from espo. They are supposed to be for an 8.74 but they dont fit my shock plates and seem a bit large for my axle housing. I'm not missing something here am i?

    Need some leaf spring advice

I am looking at going with the ESPO leafs. I dont think im going to go with the +1, i dont want it up too high. Right now my leafs are parallel with the ground, so i am thinking that even stock style springs will bring it up a few inches.

    Need some leaf spring advice

I need to replace my leaf springs on my 72 Demon because the have ceased springing. I have an 8 3/4 rear with SBP axles and stock 14 inch wheels. I plan on doing a BBP swap in the future and getting some larger tires. I was wondering if at this point it would be a good idea to just go ahead...

Passenger side axle not going in all the way

Haha! Yeah, I packed the bearings. Follow with me on this one because its convoluted. I put the driveshaft in and put the car in gear. Then I put on a drum puller to protect the threads and used a giant freaking pipe to rotate the axle slowly while tapping it with a rubber mallet. Once it...

Passenger side axle not going in all the way

That's a good question. I dont have a dial indicator to set it up with so I set it where it wouldn't move and backed it off four notches. I'm going to try to find a dial tomorrow and see where I am at.

Passenger side axle not going in all the way

Ok, so I finally got it in there and adjusted. Turns out with the adjuster backed out all the way it was binding and seemed to have no endplay. I kept turning it in and it finally started taking the endplay out. Then it adjusted properly. I learn so much everytime I do something on this car...

Passenger side axle not going in all the way

Alright, I managed to get it in. Now I just need to adjust endplay. If I turn the adjuster to the right as far as it goes I end up with more endplay. This isn't right is it? As I turn it to the left and expose more threads it takes it up but doesn't that mean the bearing is too loose.

Passenger side axle not going in all the way

I recently had an 8 3/4 clutch type rear end built for my demon. I got it home and put it in and the drivers side axle went in fine but the passenger side wont, it seems like it is hitting something that is stopping it before it comes into contact with the thrust block. Even with the adjuster...

    Quick and dumb driveshaft question

So I forgot to pay attention when I pulled my driveshaft. I don't remember if the small end goes toward the transmission or the rear. It's a 3-speed with a 8 3/4 rear of that makes any difference.

    U-Joint ID question and recommendations

I'm getting work done on my 8 3/4 so i figured while i am waiting i would replace my U-joints and clean up my driveshaft. I am pretty sure it has a 7260 on the rear (USA 934 is whats stamped on it) and i think the front is a 7260 (Detroit 072625) stamped on it. Does this sound right? Does...

    741 Pinion yoke question

I have a 741 that has a 10 spline pinion in it. If i order a new ring and pinion that is a 29 spline will it fit in the case? I am pretty sure the answer is yes but i would rather double check first. I know i will need to replace the yoke. I am hoping that the 741 that i am about to pull out...

    Rear brakes still locking up

Didn't replace those, they had plenty of pad. I will do that though, i would rather shotgun it and make it safer then fiddle with what i have.

    Rear brakes still locking up

No, hadn't thought about that. It seems to engage and disengage no problem.

    Rear brakes still locking up

I've tried adjusting the shoes several times, it hasn't seemed to make to much of a difference.

    Rear brakes still locking up

Front and rear drums have max dia 10.090 stamped on them. As far as locking them up and checking the hydraulics im not sure on how i would go about that. I guess i could have a buddy waiting with a wrench...

    Rear brakes still locking up

Ok, ill try to make this short. I have an 8 3/4 SBP rear end in my 72 Demon. It was an 318 3-speed but i don't know if the rear was swapped in or original. The rear drums are 10 inch and i replaced the wheel cylinders because the old ones were shot. Now i can't get them to stop locking up...
