I have pretty much the same setup as your Tru Trac and 12” spal fans, but the fans are the thick paddle style ones with no shroud, and I have nothing but problems with over heating also.

Well got the engine all painted and back in, hopefully for the last time.

Got the new motor mounts made. The wells look terrible compared to the HDK Frame.

I got the front end in, now I need to reinstall the engine to remake some motor mounts.

There is a web site call ( 4bt swaps ) and they tons of info like on this site. They don’t only deal in 4bt’s, but also in 6bt’s and Isuzu engines as well, and some others I can can’t think of.

The 4bt is sold with a balance shaft in an agriculture application. It adds even more height to the engine. I have seen one one time when I worked at Cummins. It’s there so it can run at a high rpm, of what I don’t know though.

Disassembled the engine today, and the cylinders look pretty good. A little shiny, but they have great cross hatching still. My plan it to get the rotating assembly balanced and get the block cleaned up, and probably have them hone the cylinders, and then reassemble it.

And now it looks like this. I pulled it all out today. Now I can start rebuilding the engine and cleaning up under the hood. I also need to go get some metal to make my sub frame connectors. Which I can install now that the engine is out, and no weight twisting it.

I haven't made to much progress lately since it has been cold, and I hate working in the garage when it is cold, but here it is so far with all the CAC and piping, and the intake I made.
