One from the past. Brown Sugar

Wayne Smother of Smothers Supercars in OK owns the car and would know more of the history. The guy that built brown sugar was the creator of Shawanda.

Anyone here own an ‘08-10 Mopar car and willing to help me with some config files?

My wife stil has her 2010 300c srt8 in the shed. I should be able to use a snap on obd2 scanner to get a file if you still need one.

    Long drive for nothing

It's getting near impossible to find old surplus engine machining equipment that hasn't been rode hard. Good luck with the hunt!

    Installing linkage clips

They won't clip on if the linkage isn't in alignment i.e. z bar. They should almost go on by hand. I use a needle nose pliers.

Anybody running these kind of Air Filters on a tunnelram

Screen can be a huge restriction. The area covered is more than you would think. I like to use a washable filter element. You want 1000cfm/carb to accomodate for maintenance intervals. What is center to center measurement of the carbs? 9.5ish?

    23 or 18 spline?

I would do an 18 spline unit for several reasons. The gears are of a coarser pitch and 2-3-4 speed gears are bushed. The input shaft diameter is larger by 3/16 also. I have better luck overbuilding things that get abused. It appears that you have sufficient tire plant to warrant the 18 spline...

    73 Duster build named Fred

I ran two NTK sensors for three years and burned hundreds of gallons of 110 and 116 leaded fuel. They still work perfect. I also have one summer on my NOS wideband and the instructions state it is compatible with leaded fuels. I have seen a few die on the dyno for but I didnt have any...

Street Outlaw star dies in wreck.

This should be a good nudge to anyone without some form of fire supression in their hotrod. My caged cars have fire systems, which are not prohibitively expensive. I do not know the exact chain of events but my understanding is that it took 45 minutes to extract him from the car. My helper...

Street Outlaw star dies in wreck.

RIP to the Z Unit. Nate was a good dude. I didn't realize he was so well known until this happened as I don't follow SO. I saw the Z Unit leave on the bumper up close and personal a few times and it was an intense experience. This was the guy that was always more engrossed in helping fellow...

Does a HD rear spring/shackle hanger exist for a 68 Dart?

I happen to have a 64 Galaxie 500 here in the yard. The 63-64 Fords are neat cars.

Does a HD rear spring/shackle hanger exist for a 68 Dart?

I looked closely at the box and these are the Mancini versions. A little welding and they are good to go.

Sneaking in without a roll cage

275/60/15 is usually the true street or DOT hotrod class. A 275 is the equivalent of a 28x11.50 (section width) bias and you might get 9" of tread to plant with a 10" rim. A 10.5 is a 10.5" tread like my black Charger wears, a 29.5x10.5 (tread width) stiff wall. They have a W version that is...

Sneaking in without a roll cage

My gts has 235-60-14 DOT bias plys on it in the pics I posted. Hooking an automatic at that power/weight will take some good shocks/suspension tuning but it should not be a major hurdle. If I can hook at no prep with a 4 speed on nitrous the OP should be able to make it happen on a prepped...

    Is this car worth 8000

You could not go race that bomb in good conscious without basically restoring all mechanical systems. The engine looks crusty like it has been outside for a long, long time. The fuel system will need to be freshened, tires replaced, expired belts swapped out and a set of real SFI racing...

Sneaking in without a roll cage

If you plan on racing it and any future performance upgrades (you mentioned a bigger rear tire ) you might as well stuff a 6 or 8 point bar in it. I would get a S&W kit good for 10.0 and go have fun.

Sneaking in without a roll cage

Every no prep race I have been to had classes and therefore, a tech inspection. I think anyone grossly violating protocol gets tapped on the shoulder for a private discussion.

Does a HD rear spring/shackle hanger exist for a 68 Dart?

Hi Andy, The first business I checked for these shackle hangers was yours. I have used several sets of B body front hangers. This car uses a Dr Diff 3/4" offset hanger kit spaced back 1/2" to fit the j60-15 M&H DOT bias ply tires or a 28x9 slick. A 275/60/15 would have required trimming...

Does a HD rear spring/shackle hanger exist for a 68 Dart?

Hello, I am in the process of upgrdaing my 68 GTS to offset spring hangers, cal tracs and a j60-15 rear tire. Does anyone make a rear spring hanger that is more stout than the flimsy OEM part? I looked at the Mopar Performance replacements online and they dont look much better than stock...

    Steering ratio doubler advice.

I ran a 16:1 box with fast ratio pitman idler for a few summers. I think it was 12 something to one. It wasn't horrible with skinny front tires and a big block under the hood. For reference a fast ratio p/s box is 14:1.

70 dart 470 ci drag car build.

Looking good! Now you know why the s60 with side adjusters is so darn popular. I have a case spreader which helps, yet it is still a PITA to load the carrier with shims in a stock D60. If you ever see one with a spun race you will be a believer in preload.

    MSD or Blue Streak wires?

I have used FireCore, MSd, Moroso, Taylor, Magnacore Blue Streak (same product line as the link) and Accel with good good results. The most I ever made on n20 using Blue Streak was 576whp. I think you will be fine with the more economical of the two.

Quick Ratio vs Standard Pitman and Idler Arms

The best thing to do IMO is switch to the 73-76 centerlink/pitman/idler and run a 16:1 manual steering box. Much more room on the later setup
